Trumps Dump On ISIS

Trump presented his plans on taking down ISIS today at a rally in Ohio. The main points I got from his speech is that if he becomes president we are done with nation building. Also, that he is not interested in committing a large contingent of US troops to the effort, mostly intel, logs and general support folks. His offensive measures, while similar to the current admin, would be more robust and aggressive. He proposes a huge effort to carry out an ideological war, as it relates to Islam, across the world.

Not a lot of meat on the bones so one has to surmise what his plans might entail. I believe he would carry out attacks using drones on a scale of 3 to 4 times the current level.

I think he said he would take the oil fields but I missed that. I see no way he could do that and still curry favor with the local govt's. But, on the other hand it could be a bargaining chip to get the locals to go along to get along.

One bothersome point for me is that he would solicit Russia as a potential coalition partner in taking on ISIS.

He would set up a commission to determine which countries pose a threat to the US and subsequently stop all immigration from those countries that don't pass muster.

He would strengthen law enforcement and immigration officials ability/authority to sort out those leaning toward terrorism. I would say political correctness is pretty much out the door and common sense is in.

So, a little more aggressive on taking out ISIS strongholds and a lot more aggressive in dealing with would be terrorists at the local level. More bang with about the same level of $bucks.

I get the sense that Trump, like Obama, wants to fight ISIS on the cheap. While I’d like to see some shock and awe I realize we are $20T in debt and on the brick of depression/recession.

One thing I’d like to see is take this new mine sweeping heli-drone, beef it up with a larger battery, maybe a combustion engine, and produce them by the hundreds.

Maybe marry the robotic part to the flying platform that has been developed to move a solider around on the battlefield.

Use them to track down moving vehicles, plant a magnetic bomblet on top of the car and fly off. This would be cheap and cut down on collateral.

If Trump has a plan that would be any different from what we are already doing, it is still a mystery. His speech really did not amount to anything other than tough talk. We already have terrorist watch lists and we already vet immigrants.

Is Trump against nation building? Maybe. Maybe not. He seems to favor letting other countries, such as Russia, solve the problem in Syria by helping Assad. He has also been in favor of sending US troops into the region. He called Iraq “a big fat mistake” but said we should have kept their oil for ourselves. He has criticized Obama and Clinton for withdrawing from Iraq (never mind that Bush set that up), yet he favors going back into Iraq, and maybe Syria. Maybe not.

Seriously. I have no idea what Trump actually wants to do. It seems isolationist at times, and at other times, not. Something about banning Muslims. Temporarily. No one knows how long that would be. Or countries that have problems with Muslim terrorists. Which countries, Trump refuses to say.

Does anyone know what he actually wants to do? And if he said the opposite recently, which version should we believe?

I’ve heard Trump say he would not telegraph our moves. He’s doing a great job not telegraphing his moves. phx8’s comment demonstrates Trump’s success in confusing the enemy.

The Trump campaign is arguably the worst presidential campaign in modern history.

Monmouth poll: FL Clinton +6 (v Trump, Lib, and Green)

The polls are universally grim for Trump. He polls 1% among blacks. That is not a typo. One. percent. In a poll in OH & PA, a pollster could not find a single black who vote for Trump. The news is nearly as bad among Hispanics and the young.

An internal poll shows Indiana tied.

Texas shows Trump just +6. It went for Romney by 16 points in 2012.

Give it another two weeks. If Trump continues to be down by large margins the RNC will pull support, and Republicans will turn their backs on him. The rats will desert the sinking ship.

This means the SCOTUS will become liberal for the next generation to come. The Senate will almost certainly become Democratic, but that was always baked into the cake. If the margin is big enough, even the House might go to the Democrats, and that is really saying something- but the numbers for Trump are so horrendous, Democrats are beginning to talk about what once seemed like an extreme outside possibility.

LOL…phx8 is pounding nails in the national coffin to the tune of “Happy Days Are Here Again.”

Hillary promises:

More debt
More taxes
More regulations
More racial unrest
More attacks on the homeland
More criminals on the street
More violations of the Constitution
More free stuff for those who refuse to work
More trade imbalance

and

Less freedom
Less liberty
Fewer jobs

Less

RF,
You’ll be glad to know Biden was met by Serbian protestors chanting ‘Trump’. Why do the Serbs like Trump? Here is what the head of that protesting political party had to say: Trump “will destroy old centers of power in the United States and he is a supporter of Russia.”

“A supporter of Russia.”

I can post racist, comments, bigoted comments, misogynist comments, and xenophobic comments made by Donald Trump all day. I am certain supporting Russian cyber attacks on American politicians is considered acceptable for any supporter of Trump.

And if anyone here is not sure about those racist, bigoted, misogynist, or xenophobic comments, just say the word. I’m in the mood to cut and paste. Easy peasy. Any takers?

Only a Democratic will take pure speculation and use it as a weapon against their political opponents.

We’re still not sure if it wasn’t leaked by the young Democratic found shot to death on the D.C. street, now are we?

I guess they couldn’t pull off the suicide scheme again.

Several times recently, I have posted that Trump has been running the worst political campaign in modern history. Today he demoted Paul Manafort, a.k.a. Paulie Walnuts, and promoted a guy from Breitbart named Bannon.

Manafort is in trouble. More is coming out about his activities on behalf the pro-Russian dictator in Ukraine. Not good. The timing of his demotion is no coincidence. It really does look like Trump was acting as an unwitting agent for the Russians and Putin- a good lesson in why it is a bad idea to nominate a person who knows nothing about foreign policy.

And now, Trump has promoted a ‘let Trump be Trump’ guy, a person who has routinely promoted conspiracy theories, dishonestly edited movies, and worse. What could possibly go wrong?

Trump 2016! Now with MORE conspiracy theory in every sound bite!

Who’s to say the amount of credibility of your claims are any more credible than your previous claims.

I’m still waiting for proof it was the Russian government who hacked the DNC. Eh? Where’s the beef!!!

WW,
You should take a little time and do some research. It really is pretty interesting. Just yesterday, in Fortune, Edward Snowden- hardly a friend of Obama, Clinton, or Democrats- agreed the evidence pointed to the Russians. Both the federal government and private firms point to the Russians. The hacker’s workday matched the Russians workday. They observed Russian holidays. The used a keyboard that also had the Cyrillic alphabet. And very few hackers had the means and motivation to attack the Democrats, but not Republicans.

There is more. Like I said, it is an interesting peek into the cloak and dagger world.

I don’t fall for the way the media is saying Hillbilly is suffering mini strokes. The video they use to paint that picture are of Hillbilly forcing a reaction. Maybe she is brain damaged, but I’m more inclined to believe she’s exaggerating.

I also know how the media works and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a manufactured story blaming Russia, linked with perfectly timed revelations about Trumps business deals with Russia, and an enormous gap in the polling data between Hillbilly and Trump suddenly dominates every hour in every day for weeks. I just don’t believe it. It’s a manufactured story that is saturating the airwaves hoping it will damage Trump.

I’ve yet to meet someone who supports Hillbilly. I see no bumper stickers or yard signs for her. In fact, I see open hostility against the fact she’s getting a pass for stuff others are going to jail for.

Sorry guys, you’re blowing smoke, and your mirror is broken.

You should do the same when the media creates issues about Trump also.

Like his daughter and the family leave issue. Entirely false.
And manufacturing a link to the DNC leaks and Russia and then accusing Trump of complicity. Totally out of bounds.

Breitbart is the primary source for the alt-right, and this movement follows Trump. It opposes multiculturalism and immigration and has been linked to white nationalism and supremacism, antisemitism, and nativism.

We see this in Breitbart headlines such as “Bill Kristol: Republican spoiler renegade Jew”.

“The outlet has undergone a noticeable shift toward embracing ideas on the extremist fringe of the conservative Right; racist ideas, anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant ideas—all key tenets making up an emerging racist ideology known as the Alt-Right.”
Joy Reid, MSNBC

Breitbart has been ‘a snake pit for conspiracy theories.’ And now, Bannon is in charge of the Trump team.

What could possibly go wrong?

“Britain saved itself from decades of stagnation and decline by Brexiting the EU. As such, Britain may have given the other troubled members of the EU the greatest gift of all — a way to leave the dysfunctional EU and rediscover their lost sovereignty and growth.”

RF,
Did you know the Russians supported Brexit? The EU hit the Russians with sanctions over Ukraine. Brexit weakened the EU as an economic force, and that is what the Russians want. They want a weakened EU and a weakened NATO.

You must be very proud to know you are contributing in your own small way to the expansion of the Russian empire. Go Trump!

Of course all of us should Weary. Media created drama is nothing to base a decision on. It is harder to find legitimate media outlets today as freedom of the press has been short circuited by corporate media. That being said it is Trump that creates a lot of his own problems by hanging with a bad crowd. He says things for the free publicity provided by the media you think creates his issues. His constant redos is proof he is to blame for his problems.

Imagine during the pre-Reagan era someone coming from such a disreputable organization as Breitbart leading a major parties presidential election team. The corruption of our system by the Reagan administration and the conservative revolution has damaged the ethics and values of this country irreparably as it lurches farther and farther to the right.
