Diamonds And Taxes Are Forever

Was just musing on the fact that the U.S. Army disinvited’ Franklin Graham from participating in a national day of prayer service at the Pentagon. Thinking back further to that ‘white, rich, slave owning’ Founder, Samuel Adams, aka the Father Of The American Relvolution. Plug in ‘Founder, Samuel Adams’ on the net and you have to click through five or six url’s relating to Samuel Adams beer before you get to the Founder and those are recent articles prompted by Glenn Beck. Sam was white, but so poor his neighbors donated him a suit of clothes to wear to the convention. According to Beck, when Adams was given a slave once, he immediately freed the person on the spot.

Old Sam could hardly take a breath without vocalizing about his ‘God’. There wouldn’t be a U.S. Army were it not for that surly old "deist". The Founder’s were very afraid the government they were creating would get out hand. They highly suspected that at some point government would act so badly as to cause people to lose trust so that provided, in Article V of the Constitution, a way for the people to amend the Constitution to correct such situations. A real balancing act they set up and it worked pretty well for almost a hundred years. The oil corporations got out of hand causing some necessary anti-trust actions. Did pretty well up until around the great depression when visions of big government came on the scene. Then we can start to talk about Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and FDR, bigtime Progressives of that era.

In Today’s Wash Post, George Will write’s that a Catholic arch-bishop of Los Angeles, says of the Az immigration law, “ reverting to German Nazi and Russian Communist techniques whereby people are required to turn one another in to the authorities on any suspicion of documentation. Yet, Franklin Graham is sidelined for speaking out about how women are treated under Islam. Understandable, only when one realizes that for the Corpocracy to succeed in pandering to every business entity, drugs, gambling, Goldman Sachs investments, etc they must undermine three things, our Founders, aka the rich, old white slavers, religion, and the self esteem of us peoples. We must be made to feel guilty about the plight of the poor immigrant. We must be fascist or Nazi or some of both. More from George: “hysteria about domestic fascism is unhelpful, even though it is a liberal tradition. In his 1944 Sate of the Union address, FDR identified opponents of his domestic agenda as fascists. Declaring that his “one supreme objective” was “security”, including “economic security, social security, moral security,” he issued a dire warning: Wilson’s progressive policies had been frustrated by ‘rightist reaction,’ and ‘if history were to repeat itself and we were to return to the so-called ‘normalcy’ of the 1920s – then it is certain that even though we shall have conquered our enemies on the battlefields abroad, we shall have yielded to the spirit of Fascism here at home.” Today’s hysterics are unoriginal. But they learned their bad manners from a master.” Unquote.

Until FDR the federal government had remained limited in size and scope by the Constitution, funded from tariffs on foreign trade, fees and exclse taxes. Needing revenue for his big-government visision, FDR implemented the income tax, promising that it would never exceed a tax rate of 7%. Within a year some people were paying 70%. The old foot in the door trick we are all so well aware. Now, never letting a crisis go to waste, government is thinking of a new tax, a VAT that taxes consumer products from cradle to grave. Perhaps this VAT will be in addition to the income tax policy we currently have. Most would agree the VAT would be useful as a trade tax, helping to bring in balance our trade deficit and, like the income tax, the VAT can be manipulated politically to create winners and losers. There are half a dozen tax code amendments weekly put in place by the Corpocracy. Well, we have the sales tax, state income tax, federal income tax, social security tax, etc. There is a new move underway to enforce sales tax on Internet purchases. Then we have yearly payments to various foreign entities which I view as a recurring tax; 25% of UN operating funds so they can elect Iran to champion women’s rights, the WTO, the IMF, the World Court (?), and various countries like Egypt and Israel, Israel always getting more to show they are our better friend. And each gets an automatic 10 percenter yearly, although congress did acquiesce this year. Midterm elections coming up ya know. None of these entities I care to support with my tax dollars. I’m still fuming over the Israelis blowing the USS Liberty (AFTR-5) out of the water and taking the lives of 34 sailors. Alabama and other states are suggesting they stop giving drivers license test in twelve languages, reverting to English only. The Federal government is threatening to withhold federal funds from Alabama, citing something about a civil rights law. State’s rights, in so many cases, is trumped or biased by the Fed’s withholding your tax dollars from the State’s. Progressive, corruption, just bum law, call it what you will it ain’t for me. Down with the Corpocracy.

So, the developed or developing world is bitching about globalization, WTO/IMF economic and immigration policies. Now the U.S. taxpayer gets to help bail out the PIGS. $150B for Greece and another $600B on the horizon for the others. Since our share of IMF funding is about 18% I would assume that’s near the percentage we will pony up. And, the Corpocracy continues with today’s announcement that a couple of major airlines will merge to limit competition, raise fares and fire a bunch of people. Anti-trust likely can’t be found in our evolving dictionary.

There are some things you can take to the bank. Wall St. will continue creating economic bubbles as they aren’t satisfied with 5-10% market margins. The EU will continue to operate as individual countries in bad times and one unified entity in good times. The Southern border will remain wide open as it’s too big to fail. And, diamonds and taxes are forever, IMO.

Roy It is my understanding the 16th amendment to the constitution was ratified in 1913. FDR became president in 1933, twenty years later. In fact the 7% was on incomes over $500,000 on 1913. Then during world war one the rate was increased to 77% on income over $1 mil. After the war it was reduced 24%. All of this before FDR was president. You really have to assume what Beck tells you is misinformation, a half truth or outright lie as it usually is.

Good grief! lol all around. The culprit was Woodrow Wilson in 1913. I agree that Beck didn’t fill in all the blanks such as raising taxes to high levels for the purpose of funding the war.

I think most believe we need taxes for defense, roads, an electric grid perhaps, and to support limited government. But, government is out of control, the 800lb gorilla in the room. Government is spending our tax dollars in ways llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllltlllllhllllllllallllllltllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllldllllfllldlllllflllllflllllllfllllllllllllallllllsllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Actually, Abraham Lincoln enacted the first US income tax.

Seems Beck has become a real lightning rod. I think he says what people know and feel. For example: on May 1 their were marches in several cities by folks, if you listened to main stream media, that were speaking out on the Az law. Beck pointed out that May 1st in the big day for the communist party movement who, along with unions are stoking the rallies seen in Greece. He alludes that the only way marches could be so quickly organized in the U.S. is through the support of peoples worker movements and unions.

I noted a few he mentioned: AFLCIO, SEIU, Internation Socialist Organization and some others, along with la Rasa.

O’riley made an effort to identify the organizers and he mentioned the Ford Foundation, a Carnegie Foundation and one I missed. Says Ford Foundation has given la RASA $1.3M in support.

So, according to Beck and O’riley there is more to the immigrant marches than just anger over recent Az law. Unions and other ‘fringe’ organizations are funding/organizing the marches.

To what purpose? Why would unions care to organize groups representing low wage workers? I thought unions were about protecting jobs and raising wages. Some of the organizers are international organizations. A May Day march in U.S. cities does give people reason to pause and ponder.

Glenn Beck is, quite frankly, nuts. He is a shame on the American political system. Listening to him for more than five minutes gives me the feeling my brain cells are dying. To make matters worse, I was born in the same town as him. Hopefully it wasn’t something in the water.

Since when are unions “fringe organizations?” Can I call Blackwater/Xe a “fringe organization?”

Yes, May Day was a communist party holiday. Yes, it still has a presence in Greece. What, exactly, does that have to do with the labor movement in America? Oh right, they share a common holiday. Clearly they are one and the same.

Were you aware that Christmas was originally a pagan Roman holiday, celebrating the birth of the birth of the god Sol Invictus? Clearly all the people who celebrate Christmas are secretly pagan fascists out to reestablish the Holy Roman Empire…

Beck and O’riley are THE two big draws for media. There must be a reason. Could be they resonate with people. What’s with Andy Stern, running in and out of the White House, proclaiming
the Marxist slogan ‘workers of the world unite?’ Is he exploiting cheap labor as suggested by his organizing of the immigrant population?

Roy,

Beck didn’t even get “May Day” entirely correct. It dates back to a pre-Christian fertility celebration of the Roman Godess “Flora”.

Obviously Beck has never heard of a “May pole”.

“Beck and O’riley are THE two big draws for media. There must be a reason. Could be they resonate with people.”

Perhaps Roy it is the PT Barnum theory at work.

“There’s a sucker born every minute” is a phrase often credited to P. T. Barnum (1810–1891), an American showman.
It is generally taken to mean that there are (and always will be) a lot of gullible people in the world.

“Beck and O’riley are The two big draws for media.”

Is that so? How many people watch them on a daily or weekly basis?

They are the two big draws in a tiny sector of the entertainment media, political punditry. Compare their numbers to liberal Oprah who is also an entertainer. Glen is going to have to become much more popular with the TV viewers if he ever expects to make the kind of money Oprah is making.

Making money is Beck’s goal. You are not going to see him or Limbaugh running for political office to save America from destruction at the hands of progressives, liberals, unions, etc.

The Corpocracy would love to shut Beck down. He is a one man political force and will have an undue effect come midterms. The next round of candidates will be way less apt to divulge/bloviate their ‘favorite philosphers as Mao and Mother Theresa’ etc. Sort of a Lou Dobbs on steroids, IMO. I can’t go there, gimme that last one back. It’s clear he has the political pendulum in his hands at this time. Far moreso than the TEA baggers, IMO.

Why Roy? Beck is a mouthpiece for the corporacy. He is a self proclaimed entertainer that you and others have anointed as a political power. And you still wonder why the country is in such bad shape….the corporacy loves these little diversions Beck and his ilk create to side step the real issues.

In his ‘Crime-Inc’ series Beck is alluding that the administration, some union ‘thugs’, univ. professors and other unsundries are in on a $10T scam relative to climate change - green energy projects. Scam will be successful only if cap and trade is passed. To me, that’s spitting in the eye of the Corpocracy.

This PM he is to a dinner hosted by Time Inc? as he was on their list for the 100 most _____ people in the world. I believe the list included O’bama, Louis DaSilva (workers party-Brazil), Ron Bloom ? (likes Mao’s organization skills), C/IMF (Socialist Party candidate - France, PM of Turkey and others. There were about five ‘neutralist’ that Beck could hang out with.

Beck making a case for gov’t failure re the oil spill. ” In 1994 we have a law that was passed: Got to have these fire booms. So when this happened, American officials called Alaska American Marine and said do you have any of the fire boom things that we are supposed to be keeping by law? We could only find one in our country, one. The government then called BP and said, can you call some friends around the world? Do you have any, do you guys have any connections on any of these fire booms? The government was supposed to have fire booms. It’s part of law. They didn’t have them. They didn’t do their job. Federal agencies have a law on the book that they are supposed to have ((several of these around the gulf coast)).”

As the worm turns. CNN says a CBS poll says 51% approve of the Az law.

Thanks, Roy, for reminding us that there is a conspiracy theorist in every crowd, and that he joins forces with the sucker that is born every minute. Has Glenn told you lately just how powerless, weak and broke those bad-assed unions you and he speak of are?

51% approve of President Obama, and 51% approve of the Arizona immigration law…I wonder if it is the same 51%…hmmm…???

The snake oil salesman strikes again. You have turned into quite a Beck spokesperson. Damn! That guy can sell ice to an Eskimo.

Marysdude, that 51% favoring the Az law was from a CBS poll so it’s probably close to right.

I do watch Beck and O’riley on a regular basis. I like Beck’s approach to educating the public as does a lot of folks. He is so bold and outspoken, unlike any other media/entertainment source that people don’t know how to take him. He has a good relations with O’riley which helps me to believe he might be the real deal. Few would hook up a phone to the President and, while waiting for a phone call, tell his viewers the President is a crook, as he has done with this latest series, CRIME, Inc.

A number of bloggers here take Beck to task but few have provided any information of import refuting Beck. For those of us who don’t like big business, big government, leaning socialist, ‘never letting a crisis go to waste’, Beck is ‘easy listening’.

Beck has the low down on a $10T scam and let me guess, the rest of the media and the regulators are ignoring it.

Beck likes to attend functions honoring Communist and Socialist leaders?

Ask Beck, how does a fire boom fix a hole in a pipe that is a mile deep? Then ask him about the Halliburton involvement.

Bush must have cancelled the contract on those fire booms. If they involved some expense to oil corporations, I’m sure he did.

When did America become the wealthiest, most powerful and greatest country in history? Was it before the progressive movement, unionization and the New Deal or after?

What change has made this country worse off? Here is a big hint, Voodoo Economics.

“Beck has the low down on a $10T scam and let me guess, the rest of the media and the regulators are ignoring it”. Beck refers to the scam as a ‘crime’ where I see it as business as usual with the Corpocracy, slicing and dicing the taxpayer’s pie.
“Beck likes to attend functions honoring Communist and Socialist leaders?” Few would not attend a function where they, personally, are being somewhat recognized, IMO.
“Ask Beck, how does a fire boom fix a hole in a pipe that is a mile deep? Then ask him about the Halliburton involvement”. Apparently, by some 1990’s law the oil corps were supposed to keep some such equipment on/near the drill site. I believe Beck noted that only one could be found in the U.S. and we had to borrow from Europe.
“Bush must have cancelled the contract on those fire booms. If they involved some expense to oil corporations, I’m sure he did.” MES ?, under Interior, was supposed to enforce rig safety and asked BP to install a blowout shutoff device during the Bush years. BP didn’t want to so MES dropped the request.
“When did America become the wealthiest, most powerful and greatest country in history? Was it before the progressive movement, unionization and the New Deal or after?” Beyond my pay grade on this one. When did the U.S. have the greatest xfer of wealth in history and become the world’s largest debtor nation? Before Prog mov, unions, New Deal etc.
“What change has made this country worse off? Here is a big hint, Voodoo Economics” Two wars and never letting a crisis go to waste, IMO. Beck, IMO, is just providing the icing for the cake.
No idealog here. Never heard of a progressive until Beck started talking about them. My interest is to bring down the Corpocracy. We can start by voting incumbents from office, like Walker says, every time. We can start a new 3rd party with a different political attitude to bust up the duopoly and right some wrongs. For instance, why are there so many road blocks for a 3rd party? Where is all this ‘democracy’ so many are quick to relate? Do we believe that folks voted to shut 3rd parties out of the process? My list is way way long, jlw.

Franklin Graham’s Warning !

Franklin’s warning of coming persecution of Christians echoes what his mother Ruth and father Billy have clearly stated. Re Ruth, see search engines including Google for “Letter from Mrs. Billy Graham.” To see what Billy has written, Google “Famous Rapture Watchers - Addendum.”
Since Franklin blamed the Obama administration for his own National Day of Prayer snub and persecution, and since he accused “Christian” Obama of “giving Islam a pass,” readers can get some rare insights into Obama and his fellow travelers by Yahooing and Googling “Obama Supports Public Depravity,” “Obama Avoids Bible Verses,” “Separation of Raunch and State,” and “David Letterman’s Hate, Etc.”
To see some exceptional in-depth studies of coming persecution, see two unique books by media figure Joe Ortiz entitled “The End Times Passover” and “Why Christians Will Suffer ‘Great Tribulation’ ” - both published in the US and UK by AuthorHouse.
