Birth of a Nation

Another year. Another Birthday.
Next month we celebrate our nation’s 231st birthday.
What does it mean?
Are we another year older, another year wiser?
It depends on who you ask.!!!

With the great divide our nation is experiencing right now ...
I would say we are older but not wiser.

Many of the issues that divide us are no longer 'issues' at all.

The majority of us have made up our minds about how we feel. Forcing an issue just continues the fight.

It is the politicians who divide us ... if they would just leave us alone...

BUT they can't. How could they possibly get elected if they didn't 'stand out'. If they didn't side one way or the other.

Do we really care any more?

Where are the voices in the middle who just want to scream ....
'SHUT UP ALREADY! Stop trying to shove it down my throat. I get it. We are ALL Americans and you can do what you want as long as you don't force me to like it.. As long as it's legal.'

Politicians make me sick.

I am looking for a leader who is an AMERICAN - NOT a politician.

It shouldn't matter if you are Republican or Democrat or if you belong to a party no one has ever heard of.
We ALL need to get behind someone who is a TRUE American.
Someone who will light a fire under the career politicians and get some work done.
Some one who can remind ALL of us of what it means to be a citizen of the United States of America !!!!!!!!!

Obama is the closest thing we have to someone who KNOWS what it means.
There is another but he isn't running as of yet.
(Just another accusatory, divisive, nasty and grammatically incorrect article from Dawn)

I recommend reading the book “John Adams”. It is possible to be a leader and a politician and a great American.

I’m looking for an AMERICAN candidate too Dawn. If ya hear of one let me know OK.
We’ve seen what party loyal candidates are capable of. It’s time to get one that’s loyal to America first. And not loyal to any party.
I personally think Obama is more divisive then ya think Dawn. If he gets the nomination I look for his whole platform to focus on ‘If ya don’t vote for me your racist’. Even if it aint ya an bet a whole heap of his supporters will come off with it. Ya can’t get much more divisive than that.
Now I might be wrong on on or both counts. And I hope I am. But I’ve seen it enough before that I’m a bit cynical.

I’m with you Dawn!!!!!

After this I hate America bunch we have in control of the Whitehouse, and the
I hate government attitude, or let us render all government agencies useless and then shut them down. Or we can turn them all into a branch of our own corrupt political party.
I can understand how you feel. Some one new with vision for all of America and all the people of the world would be a breath of fresh air.

I have to say that historically I tend to vote for the outsiders, except in 04 when I made the mistake of still believing in GWB. Anyway, I am learning about Ron Paul right now and so far I am excited by him. Dr. NO as he was called by fellow Republicans seems to be just what we need and appears to be the only candidate with something substantially different to offer. I heard him say that it seems funny to want to be a “weak” president, then he went on to say that he would be a strong president, strong enough to resist the urge to grab power and expand the federal government. So for the moment, I am excited about Dr. Paul I hope you all will be too…

Former righties going for Obama seems to be extremely trendy at the moment.

You beat me to the draw but there is also another canadate that needs to be heard and that is Mike Gravel. I would like to see a Ron Paul and Gravel ticket. That would really turn Wasington D.C. upside down.
Just My thoughts……

‘Obama is the closest thing we have to someone who KNOWS what it means.’

I am not FOR Obama.

Think of the difference between those that come to America from other nations and the children they raise vs. many of the Americans who have had family here for generations.
