Posted by WatchBlog Manager at March 1, 2007 11:35 AMYes, and writers must be able to back up thier articles with opinions from major political parties - because the truth is not good enough here.
You must agree with someone else, the moderators here, or be supported by the rhetoric of the current parties available - or else you will be censored and called “extremist.”
Posted by: Keith Burgin at March 2, 2007 12:25 PMI haven’t been censored yet and I’m about as extreme as they come :)
Posted by: kctim at March 2, 2007 03:50 PMI was. Second, post. Simply because I said that the United States is a representative republic, not a democracy. Post deleted, called an extremist, challenged, etc.
I very much wanted to write here. However, if I must support my viewpoints with opinions of current political parties, what’s the point of having an independent view?
Posted by: Keith Burgin at March 2, 2007 05:31 PMKeith, you may notice that there are no Neo Nazi Party or Communist Party writers here either. Only mainstream third party and Republocrat views meet the criteria of being non-extremist. The owner set Watchblog up to be an educational and informative site for mainstream American ideas and thoughts and parties. Not extremists.
In America we elect our representatives democratically. That makes it a democratic republic. The argument that America is not a democratic republic is extremist. There are many forms of democracies, direct, parliamentarian and republican to name the most commonly accepted. A republic does not negate a nation being democratic. When everyone from the President down through our government and the vast majority of American citizens give common currency to the idea that America is a democratic republic, the argument that America is not a democracy is extremist, by definition.
I write this not to try to sway your opinion, but, to rebut your comment and criticism for having been removed courteously and with respect, but removed nonetheless for trying to use WB to promote extremist political ideas.
DO NOT use this forum to bitch about your removal again. Take complaints to email at managing_editor@watchblog.com, if you wish to retain your comment privileges at WatchBlog.
