Kerry Lashes Back

With President Bush getting a little “bounce” in the polls from the convention, John Kerry has apparently decided that it is time to get a bit more aggressive in campaigning. I admired him for his earlier restraint, but his step up in criticism of his opponent is not a turn-off yet. The debate seems now to be centered on fitness to hold the office. Who wins that one?

Easy, the guy who’s there right now. :-)

I havent noticed a lot of restraint from Kerry, apart from a politically motivated restraint. What I mean is that he didnt hold back during the primaries—he bashed Bush pretty hard. AFTER he finished bashing him, along with all the other Democrats, he then wanted to “go positive”.

I’m disappointed that Kerry is on record as saying he would NOT challenge Bush on his military record, but now he is doing just that. Its a change from his earlier position, and that leaves him open to the charge of flip flopping.

Additionally, from a pure political perspective, it would have been much smarter to have his surrogates question Bush’s record. Then perhaps Kerry would not have been open to the flip flop charge.
