Sweep the WMD Evidence Trail Under the Rug

Two top CIA analysts who compiled data on Iraqi WMD abilities are in “deep exile” as one unnamed agency official phrased it. This is disconcerting because such a move would only add to growing concern that evidence was hand-picked and presented to Congress and the UN. It also arouses suspicion that a cover-up of intelligence is occuring and that those who may have stepped forward are being sent a clear message that the issue is not to be discussed. This appears to be an indication of the Bush administration’s stance that anyone with any knowledge is not to dispute or contradict orders and statements from the top, or even to think about it.
