US Wants to Remove Troops, Leave Corporations

In trying to prove that the “Coalition of the Willing” is not the hollow shell of rhetoric that many claim it is, US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld is expected to call upon 41 coalition ally countries to help in the peacekeeping mission in Iraq. On the other hand, replacements for American companies and contractors who were awarded billions of dollars in contracts (many of those contracts were not properly bid in the first place) have not yet been announced. It is not clear whether military reservists will return to the US or if they will await orders in the Gulf for deployment to another hostile regime who may or may not have weapons of mass destruction. Except that probably won’t matter because US foreign policy can always resort to changing it’s focus to freedom of oppressed peoples.
