Yes America - There is a Border Crisis

It would seem there is indeed a crisis at the Southern Border. And it has to do with two things: a surge in illegals trying to cross; and as most are realizing, a change in who is crossing or trying to cross the border. Here’s Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council in an interview with WMAL’s Vince Coglianese:

"This is the worst crisis the Border Patrol has ever faced in the history of the Border Patrol and we're going back to 1924. In my 21-year career as a Border Patrol agent, I've never seen it like this and I've worked in the busiest locations. . . . In the history of the Border Patrol it's never been like this before. This is the worst it's ever been and if we don't do something it's going to continue to get worse."

This is someone on the front lines, and one of the main problems he's referring to is the fact that families and unaccompanied children have made controlling the border a near-impossible task. It's a system designed to stop single men trying to cross the border in search of work. And now families fleeing poverty and violence in Central America are overwhelming border agents.

This is in large part because America cannot decide how to deal with this problem. Opposing sides of the political spectrum might say that immigration policy is "broken" but their solutions are diametrically opposed. Progressives and Democrats in general say that borders must open up and exhibit humane treatment of anyone claiming any sort of hardship, while conservatives and populists and some of the GOP (but certainly not establishment Republicans) claim that until the border is brought back under control, America is no longer in charge of its own security.

So, as Rich Lowry postulates in National Review, Trump's threat to close the border is in fact a desperate plea to his Mexican counterpart Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (or AMLO as they apparently call him) to try and halt the migrant caravans that keep moving up through Mexico towards the frontier with America. It's not a bullying, authoritarian threat. It's a last-ditch tactic to use economic pain as a cudgel to prod Mexican authorities to do what Trump can't because his own Congress won't fund a wall that has become a political symbol fraught with the partisan confrontations of this age. As Lowry concludes in his piece at NR:

"Even if this gambit were guaranteed to succeed, it's insane that a sovereign country of unparalleled power has tied its own hands such that it must try to bully and cajole a foreign nation to do immigration enforcement for it."

"In a more rational world, Congress would take seriously the spectacle of U.S. officials -- and humanitarian organizations -- scrambling to handle a flood of humanity showing up every day. It would give them the legal authorities and resources to get the situation under control. That it won't is a dereliction of duty of the highest order."

Plans for a so-called Migration Czar. A threatened shutdown of one of the world's busiest borders that would cause economic pain in America as well as Mexico. An overwhelmed border and immigration system on the US-Mexico border. These are not causes. These are symptoms of the unwillingness of Congress to view the crisis as a crisis because Trump is president. And because Democratic Party views on immigration and border security have been dragged to the far left, like much else of the party's policy platforms, by progressive activists.

Good post Keeley, thanks.

Name one top elected Democrat who has not argued for border security in the past and I will stop referring to Democrats as “gravediggers”.

Everyone knows exactly why our immigration laws are in turmoil and severely ineffective in controlling illegal human and drug border crossing.

There are those who benefit from the laws handcuffing effective border enforcement. At this time, they have more power than those who believe in the sovereignty of our nation and law and order.

Yes. there is a border crisis.
And it is costing billions per day.
DHS, BCP, MIT, and other estimates indicate that illegal immigration is costing $0.74 Billion per day (about $270 Billion per year).
Democrats call it a “manufactured crisis”.

How do all of the thousands of victims of crime by illegal immigrants feel about the border crisis, and 5.5 homicides per day by criminal non-citizens in the U.S. ?
Why do Democrats do that?
Here’s why
It’s not easy to get much more despicable than that.

Tr-mp is too stupid to understand what is involved with closing the border, or how it will affect the oranges. (We have oranges from Morocco here now) He may have been ordered by Putain to close the border after seeing a discussion of how Brexit will create chaos at Coquelles and Folkestone.

The Memoryless Property

The strong renewal assumption states that at each arrival time and at each fixed time, the process must probabilistically restart, independent of the past. The first part of that assumption implies that is a sequence of independent, identically distributed variables. The second part of the assumption implies that if the first arrival has not occurred by time , then the time remaining until the arrival occurs must have the same distribution as the first arrival time itself. This is known as the memoryless property and can be stated in terms of a general random variable

The asylum laws, and detention time-limits are forcing the government to release thousands of illegal immigrants (there are currently many tens of thousands)

Democrats like it that way, because Democrats want more votes.

Closing the border is the only way to stop the flood, until the laws are changed.

Closing the border partially would be less damaging. However, weigh the losses of closing the border with the losses of 2,000 homicides per year by criminal non-citizens, and $270 Billion per year in losses due to illegal immigration (source: KlowdTV.com).

So many lies.

1. There is no Trump plan for health care reform. Never was. No GOP plan either.

2. This is the 8th time Trump has threatened to close the border. An inability to plan and pass legislation during the first two years of a GOP majority does not now constitute a crisis due to incompetence.

3. As for lies told just today, Trump’s father was not born in Germany. He was born in the Bronx. Why could Trump lie about this?

4. The 2018 election was not “rigged.” Trump was lying today. Extra for experts: the US Intelligence Community shut down the Russian Internet Research Agency for the day on the date of the 2018 midterm elections. Trump didn’t even mention that. Because Trump is treason.

Trump supporters are being groomed to believe they do NOT want to see the Mueller Report after all. Trump has gone from saying he wouldn’t mind it being released in its entirety, to now referring to such demands as a “disgrace.” Senator Graham first blocked it. McConnell then blocked it again.

And in case anyone was wondering, every special and independent prosecutor case from before and after the change in statute has released findings within DAYS of the report. There has NEVER been testimony that was withhold because it came from a Grand Jury. And Barr’s criteria for not releasing testimony because it would be “embarrassing” is NOT a recognized legal standard. He literally just made that up.

phx8 spews nonsense: 3. As for lies told just today, Trump’s father was not born in Germany. He was born in the Bronx. Why could Trump lie about this?
It’s probably not a lie. It’s a mistake. He probably meant to say “grand father”, since Donald Trump’s grand father was born in Germany.
A mistake does not equate to a lie. Your deep hatred (an affliction know as Trump Derangement Syndrome) drives you to interpret everything in a hateful fashion.
IF you want to see some truly damaging and deadly lies, see this.

Actually, your statements are closer to treason.
The deep state was trying to undermine Trump, and we now see that the whole hoax failed. Hopefully, some of these people will be held accountable for their role in the “Russia Collusion” hoax.

More lies and nonsense.
Barr cannot share grand jury testimony – that is illegal under Rule 6e of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.

But thanks again for being the gift that keeps on giving.

Grand Jury Secrecy Rules
Following is the text of Rule 6(e) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, which establishes rules for grand jury secrecy.
(6) Sealed Records. Records, orders and subpoenas relating to grand jury proceedings shall be kept under seal to the extent and for such time as is necessary to prevent disclosure of matters occurring before a grand jury.

The Democrats just keep digging that hole they’re in every deeper.

But, that’s a good thing, because like phx8, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Keep up the good work!

Democrats claiming the crisis at the border is manufactured, are despicable for these 12 reasons.

There is also a legal policy crisis, because the asylum laws are being abused (which Congress has failed to address for decades; mostly due to Democrats who want the votes), and detention time-limit laws are forcing the government to release thousands of illegal immigrants (there are currently many tens of thousands in detention).

So the title of this column’s article is “Yes-There Is A Border Crisis.”

Except…

No. There is no border crisis. Trump was lying. Again. He is lying about closing the border. This is at least the 8th time he trotted out that particular lie. Trump is not going to close the border. Never was.

Boy, it has got to be tough being a Trump Supporter these days. One minute at war with Eurasia, the next minute with Eastasia. Quick! Time for a Two Minutes Hate!

So! No health care reform. No plan. Never was one. No closed border with Mexico. Nope. Not now. Not tomorrow. Not next year. And the other day the entire Mueller report was to be released, and the House voted 420 - 0 in favor of releasing it. Now all the Republicans on a House Committee voted AGAINST releasing it. Caught a few minutes of Limbaugh. Tough bucket of water to carry. One moment the Mueller Report exonerates Trump. Total Vindication! Now the Report must not be released and Trump Supporters are supposed to cheer that.

The cover-up is usually worse than the crime. Eventually the House will see an unredacted report. It will happen. Eventually, the public will see most of the Mueller Report (less redacted sections for classified sources & methods items involving ongoing investigations.) It will happen. Lying about this just makes it worse. Let’s see the report.

Only a despicable person, or a complete moron (or both) would claim there is no crisis border when there are 2,000 homicides per year by criminal non-citizens (5.5 homicides per day), and over 70,000 drug overdoses per year (2017), partially due to drugs flowing across the border.

Keep digging that hole you’re in ever deeper. Mueller and Barr both said there were no more convictions, and no collusion. How do you think some grave-diggers can override Mueller and Barr when they didn’t get what they wanted?

The other day Trump said the noise from wind turbines causes cancer. “They say it causes cancer.” Just to be clear, for the record, this is a lie. Wind mills do not cause cancer. The noise from them does not cause cancer. Senator Grassley was right. Trump’s lie was “idiotic.” Senator Ernst was right too when she called Trump’s lie “ridiculous.”

By the way, WB conservatives will have to let me know what you believe this week. It changes so frequently, I can’t make heads or tails of it.

But please. Do not believe the noise from wind turbines causes cancer. Trump was lying again.

Really phx8? I believe this week, the same things I have believed for nearly two years now.

President Trump is not guilty of anything illegal in his successful efforts to become president.

Poor phx8. He dug his “grave” deeper and deeper for two years. Now, he can’t crawl out of it. He’s a dead duck. No prediction of his will be believed by anyone. He has no credibility left on anything concerning President Trump and the Russians, collusion, or obstruction.

Phx8 must believe his Looney leftist that we are all going to die in 12 years so who cares if wind turbines give us cancer we’ll all be dead anyway.
