Trump & immigrants

Immigrants from the shtholes tend to be better quality because they are self selected. Consider Nigerian immigrants. They are richer, better educated and more successful than native born whites and blacks. The same goes for West Indian immigrants and Indian immigrants and their kids are the most successful of all American groups. These immigrants are proving once again that America is a land of opportunity and the race, creed or national origin is trumped by hard work and intelligence.

There are a lot of 💩hole countries, but the question is, “is Trump speaking of legal or illegal immigrants?” The whole conversation about dreamers, or the democrats “comprehensive” immigration reform was dealing with illegals. I don’t think Trump was talking about the legal migration of people who have the ability to add to our nation and assimilate.

What the left and the never Trumpers fail to understand is that Trump is not a politician. The common people out here in flyover country know exactly what Trump is saying. The question is not how Trump worded his comments, it is the question he brought to the table, “Why would the left continue to push to bring people to this country, who donor benefit the country?” I have driven through the slum section of Detroit several times and my comment to my wife was always, “this place is a 💩hole”. Does that make me a racist, or is it a legitimate remark. I traveled through Cartagena several years ago and drove past vast shantytowns with raw sewage flowing down dirt streets. I considered and still do, that this was a 💩hole country. The is not a single person, especially of those on WB, or those of means in the media, Hollywood, or government, who have traveled to these 3rd world countries and have not thought they were 💩hole countries. Anyone who says they haven’t is a liar. This is simply the latest talking point; last week it was something else and next week it will be something new. The goal is to bring down the president, but it will take more than this 💩.

Jeez Blaine more conservative propagandist talking points. First of all Trump was talking about countries not individuals being shtholes. If there is truth to C&J’s take on the issue Trump was badly informed on the issue, to ask such a foolish question. His narcissism and lack of knowledge led him to ask the question in the worst way possible. In public, for the world to judge. He represents America and he has let us down.

Secondly Trump is a politician. I would give you he is no statesman but he is a politician. In fact he holds the highest political office in the country. Excusing his bad behavior with this silly strawman argument is foolish. The problem is he is an ill prepared politician that represents the American people to the rest of the world. His latest faux pas demonstrates his and our collective narcissism and bloated ego to the world.

Trump of course has to double down on his ignorance because his arrogance won’t let him do the right thing. Had he taken the moral high road he would have apologized for this boorish remark, to those countries. Instead he and his appeasers point the finger every which way, from “well we say it to” to its a talking point. He represents us very poorly and his lack of integrity and decency cast a shadow on the country he represents.

The left has been trying to impeach Trump for the past year. That’s 12 months of nonstop attacks by the leftist media run Democratic Party. It’s every week for the past year, or 52 weeks of subject changes with the goal of impeaching Trump. J2t2, how’s that going for you? Are you any closer now than you were a year ago. In the meantime, President Trump continues to plug along with his agenda. The republicans were on board with the media run democrats, but they have come to realize the Russian collusion was fake. But now they are supporting Trump; even the republicans want be on the winning team. The colluding was with Clinton, the DNC, the FBI, the DOJ, and of course, the Russians. Like I said, it’s gonna hit the fan in the next few weeks. When charges are brought against Hillary’s accomplices and they are looking at taking the fall…they will start singing like songbirds.

Sorry j2t2, but you don’t get to have two different conclusions for the same question. Either Trumps a politician or he’s not. How many ill prepared politicians do you want to admit to in the Democratic Party? Trump may be president, but he has never held political office. He’s a businessman who ran for president and won. He’s certainly not a politician. He’s had to learn in a few months, what most politicians have trained for their whole lives. So you may be able to call him a lot of things, but you can’t call him a politician, in the sense of what the word means.

Lastly, you need to go back to the by partisan meeting that Trump had. It was about immigration reform. It was about border security, about dreamers, about lottery visas and about illegal immigrants. It was not about countries. The comments that Trump may or may not have made, were in response to the offer that was brought to him, giving democrats everything they want and Trump nothing he wanted. That was the context of the conversation. And the question was asked of democrats, “why do you want to flood the US with people who have nothing to offer?” Of course the answer to that is that the Democratic Party needs a continuous flow of ignorant underclass to shore up their voter base. It must be sad to see your voter base dissolve as they become more intelligent and less dependent on government handouts. Pelosi accuses the tax cuts as being “crumbs” handed out to Americans; but my question is, what have the democrats been giving the unwashed masses for decades in the form of government handouts?

We have about 11,000,000 illegals already in the United States. Even Canada recognizes limits.

““We don’t want people to illegally enter our border, and doing so is not a free ticket to Canada,” Mr. Hussen said in an interview. “We are saying, ‘You will be apprehended, screened, detained, fingerprinted, and if you can’t establish a genuine claim, you will be denied refugee protection and removed.’ ”

The economy is overheating.

Tax cuts are pouring enormous amounts of money into a healthy economy at full employment. It is coming from debt, from deficit spending. Poof! It’s magic! What this means is that a lot of money is entering the economy with nowhere to go, in other words, more money will be chasing the same amount of goods and services. Interest rates are too low to compete. Almost all of the money will go to the wealthy and corporations, resulting in wealth capture, and it is being fed to the stock market.

The cuts dropped the top rate from 39% to 37%, eliminated the estate tax, and more importantly, dramatically dropped corporate rates. The statutory tax rate fell from 35% to 21%. The EFFECTIVE rate fell from 18-21% (depending on who you ask) to 9%. Most of that money will go back into the stock market- to buybacks and dividend increases.

Meanwhile, the Treasury issued withholding guidelines that are too low. This will bump up take home pay, giving middle class workers the illusion the tax cuts are a great thing for them. Come next spring, an unusually large number of people will not only NOT receive refunds, they will owe. The calculation is that it does not matter because that will be after the midterm election.

The Federal Reserve will only have one choice- they are going to have to increase interest rates much more quickly, and much more aggressively.

And then we will get to learn a new phrase: the debt bomb.

phx8, another doomsday prophecy from the leftist talking points. But now we have another problem; while some on the left are crying doomsday, we have others like Obama claiming the great economy is the result of policies he put into effect. So what is it; a doomed economy created by Trump, or a successful economy created by Obama?

Clinton was upset that 9/11 happened on Bush’s watch and not his, and Obama’s upset that the economy went boom 💥 on Trump’s. It seems the left is always a day late and a dollar short.

dbs,
The Treasury Department is changing the withholding guidelines. Under the old ones, you might have declared two deductions in order to receive less in your paycheck, in exchange for a refund next year. Treasury is encouraging people to withhold less. The net result is a paycheck today will look bigger, but there will not be that refund next year.

It is actually a pretty clever way to jack up middle class spending right now, which hopefully will increase demand and production. The problem is that it obviously robs Peter to pay Paul. The calculation is that it will not be apparent until after the November elections, and maybe by then, production will ramp up enough for people to spend that extra money on goods and services.

However, most of the cuts will go to corporations and the rich, and there is simply no reason for them to increase wages, or produce more goods and services, or hire people right now. That is why most of the money is pouring into places like the stock market. There’s no other game in town for all that extra money.

It is pretty much the working definition of how to start inflation- have more money, produced by deficits and debt, chase the same amount of goods and services.

Blaine I don’t want Trump impeached, why send up yet another strawman. As sad as it may seem Trump was the best of the bunch the repubs had to choose from. We need to allow the tea baggers in Congress to have their run, to enact their laws. Trump will make sure it happens.

“Either Trumps a politician or he is not”. Such insight Blaine. I don’t know why you put up the both ways strawman but let me be clear. Trump is a politician, but he ain’t no statesman.
In case you aren’t clear on the difference here is definitions that may help to clear things up. A politician is “a person who is professionally involved in politics, especially as a holder of or a candidate for an elected office.” whilst a statesman is “a skilled, experienced, and respected political leader or figure”.

Excusing his poor decisions and penchant for misleading and lying to the people of this country by claiming he isn’t a politician is IMHO simply a ruse. He is a bad politician.

Blaine the meeting may have been about immigration so what. But he called the countries sh**holes. No may or may not. Just because one Trump appeaser lied for him doesn’t mean much. Well.. other than putting the arrogance, narcissism and bloated ego on display. I ask you guys ” at long last have you no sense of decency” ? The man lies and denies instead of admitting his faux pas and you defend him.

Regardless of how someone chooses to pay their taxes, the majority will see a net reduction in their tax liability. Most people with no dependents have to claim zero exemptions in order to not owe at the end of the year. Bottom line is, it’s your money. Whether you keep or wait to get it back affects nothing. You’re tax liability is your tax liability. When you get money back, all it means is you let the govt use your money interest free for part of the year. Why not keep it in your pocket.

He just reminded everyone why they disliked him so much, by saying people who watch Fox News must be from another planet. Once again I would like to encourage reading the book “Fire and Fury,” especially for any Steve Bannon fans out there. The book talks about Trump, but it is primarily through Bannon’s perspective. There is not much discussion of policy. Mostly, it concentrates on the in-fighting between the three main factions (through October)- Priebus and the establishment GOP, Kushner and Ivanka (aka Jarvanka), and the Bannonites.

The book fills in the blanks for what anyone who cares to follow it already knows. The factions had two things in common: 1) no political experience. 2) a propensity for leaking as a way of influencing Trump while backstabbing the competition.

The book reinforces the general perception of Trump with story after story. Supposedly 200 interviews were conducted and the author was granted access to the White House- reportedly by pretending to be a big critic of the MSM. However, it is pretty obvious where most of the material originated. There are some surprise sources, like Katie Walsh, Rupert Murdoch, and Roger Ailes (now deceased), but the majority is unmistakably Bannon. He is a horrible person. He is also profane, very smart, and pretty funny.

As for the perception of Trump, we all know it by now. He does not read. He does not listen. He knows virtually nothing about policy, nor does he care. He is impulsive and vindictive and very susceptible to flattery because, more than almost anything else, he desperately wants to be liked. In general, he likes to suck up and punch down.

And we can all be thankful he was playing golf when Hawaii received the missile scare. For once, the country caught a break.

phx8 has once again changed the narrative, two weeks ago it was the book, last week it was the 💩hole comment, now he is moving back to the book. phx8 needs to understand, those of us who support the Trump agenda don’t care about Bannon, his book, or Trump’s so called comments. The book has been found to be based on unnamed sources with no facts, the comments have been proven to be lies by Dick Durban and never happened, and the overall claim that Trump is a racist has been proven to be false, based on the works and awards of Trump’s life.

Phx8, you grasping for straws. I certainly believe America is much safer under Trump than under the coward Barrack Hussein Obama.

But one thing is for certain, the author of “Fire and Furry”, the book about bombing Germany in WWII has sold a record number of books. The left are so ignorant, they can’t seem to buy the correct book. The down side is that Trump will be blamed by the left for bombing Germany during the last world war.

Blaine,
You have a lot to say about a book you never read.

The racist comment is 100% consistent with the kind of things Trump has said in the past, and by the way, there were a lot of witnesses in the room. Senators Cotton and Perdue seem to recall he said **** house rather than **** hole, which doesn’t really make things better. And Trump made a lot of calls to friends afterwards to gauge reaction. This is also something Trump often does at night and during “executive time.”

As for unnamed sources, there are some in the book, but there are also a lot of direct quotes, especially from the people I mentioned in my previous comment. And remember, most of the people quoted in that book are conservative Republicans except Jared, Ivanka, and Cohn.

No they haven’t Blaine. The only thing that happened is two Senators have said they cannot recall Trump saying what the rest of the room heard before changing their stories a day later. I can tell you don’t really believe anything has been proven because you are consistently bringing out red herring and strawman arguments while projecting onto others. Not to mention this exaggeration of proof.

Trump still lying and denying, is known for his inability to tell the truth, it has been documented during his first year in office. He has zero integrity and credibility.

Perdue and Cotton are merely lap dogs of the Fuhrer, willing to say or do anything to curry favor. Veracity is a challenge for these appeasers. I mean they went from not being able to recall what was said to denying certain words were said, how moronic is that? I realize that works for the rons that say and do anything to appease Trump but it doesn’t hold water for anyone able to think for themselves.

phx8 and j2t2 will ignore the question and clutch their pearls to keep from fainting over the use of a terminology that people understand and puts the real question front and center.

Even if Trump said, “Why are we importing people from backward countries instead…”, the left would still be clutching their pearls. If so the answer to your question is..well… read what C&J wrote. Trump was not only insulting other countries and peoples he displayed a complete lack of understanding on immigrants from these countries. To arrogant to admit a mistake he instead denied what was said and then defamed those that exposed his lack of class and knowledge to the people of this country. Then his appeasers jumped on the lie and deny bandwagon and tried to smear the Dems for calling out Trumps ignorance.

His ignorance has not only been praised by his followers it has been repeated and applauded. As a consequence the reason for the meeting, the DACA negotiations, have broken down. He has failed to get Congress to come to terms with a bipartisan bill on the issue. Companies are increasing wages and giving bonuses on their own volition and not by government mandate.

Black, Hispanic and women’s unemployment continues to drop significantly

There is much more but the best of all is…

Democrats are threatening to shut down our national government in favor of about 800,000 illegals in our country. Just imagine the political ads.

Sorry Mr. and Mrs. America, we can’t send you your Social Security check because the illegals deserve our attention more than you do.

It isn’t mimicking that I am doing Weary. You must be one of them MoreRons that are so caught up in A.S.Trumps propaganda that you just can’t tell the difference.

So I am here to help. Although I know you cannot find it in yourself to stipulate, thats ok lets do baby steps.

You asked “What value do the people from poor and backward countries bring to the U.S.?”

I answered read C&J’s post. That must be confusing you so lets start over. You asked “What value do the people from poor and backward countries bring to the U.S.?”

My answer is this -“Immigrants from the shtholes tend to be better quality because they are self selected. They are richer, better educated and more successful than native born whites than blacks”

I couldn’t wait to get home. So why would I want to bring Africa here? Non-Westerners do not magically become American by arriving on our shores with a visa.
