The Clinton Foundation Is a Treasure Trove - Just Ask Russia

It was in the NYTimes last year, and the story has reappeared in print and cable and across various media. The Clinton Foundation was essentially a clearing house for a deal to allow a Russian company to acquire a fifth of America’s uranium reserves. And even if the amount of reserves - always an estimate in mining - is not quite that much, it is still an alarming story.

How did it work? Bill Clinton collected $500,000 - more than many hard-working Americans earn in a decade - for one speech in Moscow. In 2010. A year after Hillary became Secretary of State. And donors to the Clinton Foundation lobbied for the deal to go through. America's uranium reserves for sale like a night in the Lincoln Bedroom. Yes, that's an old story. The point being the same patterns keep repeating themselves with the Clintons.

You would think Donald Trump would be all over this story. But he's got more important foes to take on. Like Paul Ryan and John McCain. His attacks on both - 'I'm not ready to endorse Ryan' sarcastically echoing Ryan's reluctance to endorse Trump back in May - seem to be about the Khans. So his GOP House Leader and a stalwart GOP senator are in his sights for their remarks supporting the Khans and implicitly criticizing Trump's responses. He is even musing about what a great guy Ryan's GOP primary opponent, the suddenly famous Paul Nehlen, seems to be.

Trump doubles down again. And never really apologizes. Yes, it's who he is. But it also might be a deliberate strategy that's a little more thought out than his chorus of detractors would admit. And that worked wonders in the primaries.

Will this strategy still work now that we are truly, finally in the general election campaign?

Trump on Tuesday wrapped up his latest salvo in what seems to be an extension of the Khan family flap, by stating that America needs loyal people and fighters. Not weak people. In other words, we have to sing from the same songbook. My songbook, not the GOP's. Not conservative doubters. My songbook.

The Clinton Foundation and it's relationships with foreign, big-money interests - from Moscow to Beijing - is a treasure trove of opposition research just waiting to be plundered. You don't even have to pry it open. The NYTimes - one of Trump's most determined opponents in the media - has already done that. But right now, Trump is more concerned about imposing his will on his own party.

He surely understands that you can do both. It's what a president's daily bread and butter is all about.

You forgot to mention Scarborough’s conspiracy theory that it was WJC42 who got Drumpf to run in the first place.

The only person with the power to prevent ARMZ Uranium Holding from purchasing Uranium One from its Canadian owners was Barack Obama and there’s zero evidence of any financial relationship between him and any relevant investors.

This has been pretty thoroughly debunked already. I will just point out that this is precisely the kind of conspiracy theory that damages conservatives so badly. There is a startling inability to confront real issues with real solutions; instead, we have conservatives spreading obviously false stuff pushed by Hannity, Limbaugh, Drudge, Breitbart, and other right wing outlets. It results in crowds baying ‘lock her up.’ They seem blissfully unaware of just how off-putting, how ugly they look to most Americans. Trump calls Obama “ignorant.” What on earth!

I really don’t understand how people can look at Obama, see he has an approval rating over 50%- five points HIGHER than when he won the 2012 election with 51%- and imagine attacking him will help them win the election. The basic idea of an election is to win with over 50%, or at least a plurality resulting in 270 electoral votes. It is virtually impossible to achieve that by attacking Obama. The attacks on Hillary Clinton seem weirdly issue free. It is just a prolonged regurgitation of fake scandals.

McClatchy/Maris poll- Hillary +15.

It’s just tabloid journalism by Rupert Murdoch’s stooges and their dupes. Murdoch would probably prefer HRC45 over Drumpf, and may be ordering the stooges to make even bigger fools of themselves, knowing that Drumpf is set to implode. CBS Newsradio is saying that Speaker Ryan’s campaign is referring to HRC45 as President, but they may be taking that out of context. We get a some local Wisconsin news here. Drumpf is going there, and Walker and Ryan are pretending that he’s not their nominee, while his mental problems are becoming more and more obvious. Enough with the insaity! The election should be on November 1st. Let’s just get this over with already.

Cenk Uygur is questioning Melania Trump possibly committing visa fraud in the past:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdcpRgDMqfg

Uygur was a Bernie supporter, and last Sunday, was still predicting that Drumpf would win. He seems to want to punish HRC45 for defeating Bernie. I used to listen to his channel before he started hating on the Clintons.

Personally I would just as soon leave Melania Trump out of the campaign. She is a gold digger who married a rich man twice her age. Not the first, not the last. She obviously did not write her own speech, told a white lie about her being the author, and then crashed and burned when it turned out her speechwriter plagiarized.

Her funniest line from the convention speech: ‘Donald Trump is intensely loyal’; this, from his third wife. Oh Melania. Oh honey. If there is anything that is obvious to everyone, it is that Donald Trump is loyal to only one person, and that person is NOT you.

I would leave Melania out of it as well, but Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper is putting her into it, and people are connecting the dots on what she said about herself and her visa.

I don’t expect my Libbie/Socialist Pals to read this as the source is “tainted”.

“The Obama administration’s dealings with Iran have followed a grim pattern: American pusillanimity followed by Iranian provocation followed by American capitulation. Rinse and repeat. Now we have another example. And, as with previous acts of American prostration in the region, that the United States government is now in the business of paying off hostage-takers will come as welcome news to America’s enemies.”

You are correct Warren. As a young man you hopefully will live many more years and those words…”Nobody cares” will ring in your ears. Future generations will ask what happened to US…and your answer will be…”Nobody cared”.

What a wonderful legacy…congrats.

Except people do care.

It’s why Mike Morrell wrote an oped endorsing Hillary Clinton. He cares about the future of our great nation and he firmly believes that Trump would do great harm to it.

It’s why people such as Khizr and Ghazala Khan stood on a stage and subjected themselves to the most offensive of slanders from the right wing. It’s because they care about preserving America’s Constitution.

It’s why Hillary Clinton will be our next President.

RF,
The National Review writers- 23 of them- each wrote a separate piece criticizing Donald Trump. They were universally ignored. The GOP turned its back on them. They are the proverbial generals without an army.

If conservatives are going to ignore them, why should anyone else pay attention?

I have lived in a world filled with optimism, energy, love, opportunity and morality. Unlike your generation of liberals and socialists Warren, we did care about country, neighbor and family.

Over the years reading and writing on Watchblog I have witnessed and commented on the Left celebrating every new tax, oppressive regulation, violation of our Constitution, and debasement of our society.

Many of my Leftie Pals want to flirt with a little more Socialism and simply don’t understand, or care about, what inevitably follows.

The allure of something-for-nothing, and of an all-knowing and all-benevolent government can’t be resisted by the weak-willed and poorly grounded dupe, the educated dunce, and those who lust for power operating beyond the bounds of our Constitution.

Instead of arguing against a straw man, why don’t you look at the facts. This has been the longest time period without a recession and the unemployment rate is at nearly record lows. Times are so good that the LFPR has dropped because people are retiring more quickly.

Interest rates remain low, which means the high level of government debt has not been a problem. Nevertheless, I have confidence that President Gary Johnson will make quick work of that.

Turn off the TV and the radio for a change. Get out of the house and enjoy the real world and all its richness. You only believe things are going south because of the dystopic propaganda ubiquitous in the media you consume. Witness the Democratic convention from just a couple of weeks ago and its celebration of country, Constitution, neighbor and family. America is great again and it will only get greater.
