A curious case of Muslim "compassion"

Europe is facing a refugee crisis as thousands of Muslims free persecution by fellow Muslims to take refuge in mostly Christian Europe. Think about this. There are dozens of Muslim countries nearby, many of them rich countries. Yet smart Muslims flee to the West, ostensibly the home of the Great Satan and a bunch of little Satans. Could it be that they are saying with their actions what they won’t admit in their words? The West is better.

Every person who migrates from one place to another is saying that the new location is better for him/her than the old one, else they would not leave. We get lots of talk about the troubles in the U.S. or in the West and people claim to like things better elsewhere. Presumably, those people stay "elsewhere". We are gratified by the vote of confidence that immigrants and others give to the West through their actions. If their words, and the words of the UN and others would match we might be better able to address real problems in those benighted places from which people consistently flee.

John,

I am pretty sure the number of Syrian refugees in Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon dwarfs however many are trying to reach Europe.

“On July 9, 2015, the UNHCR reported that the number of Syrian refugees has surged over 4,000,000 people, mostly residing in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraqi Kurdistan.

During the first half of 2015, large numbers of Syrian refugees crossed into European Union member states, reaching 313,000 UNHCP applications across Europe by early August 2015.[118] The largest numbers were recorded in Germany with over 89,000 and Sweden with over 62,000 in early August.

The BBC reported that “despite their proximity to Syria, no Syrians claiming asylum have been taken in by Saudi Arabia or other wealthy Gulf countries.”

I am just tired of the blame the West meme. These refugees are Muslim and often Arabic speaking. They are surrounded by Muslim and Arab countries. Logically, that should be the place to go and the ones who should welcome their brothers. This is especially true, since many of these countries import labor. They obviously have available space and jobs.

You know why they are no opening their doors to fellow Muslims and fellow Arabs? The big reason is that they prefer the semi-slave labor when they import workers from Philippines or Bangladesh. They want to be able to threaten them with expulsion. Another reason is that they just don’t care if the problem is solved. The problem itself gives them leverage. They could have absorbed all those Palestinians, as the Germans, Poles, Ukrainians etc did with there expat country people after WWII.

Exactly C&J, Rooted in tribalism and religious offshoots of one form or another. Historical: all my life I’ve heard the refrain, ‘if the arabs can’t find a tribe to fight with they will turn and fight amongst themselves’.

Their faith seems to have stymied them forever while the Christian faith founded the US and got on with it.

Well, this time around the US in directly responsible for the plight of the current migrant crisis in the ME. IF the Executive would of left 50k troops in Iraq ISIS would not have been able to gain a foothold.

But, I’m sure the ‘nation builders’ and liberal thinkers will find a way to loosen up the tax coffers and smooth out the bumps for the migrants - - one more time - - - and so on …

I’m sure, this very evening, that there are those who would like us to offer candy, bandaids, viagara and the promise of young virgins to the ISIS troops in order to smooth out those bumps, etc - - -

Run Trump Run !!
