Too late now to regret voting for Obama

People often learn their lessons too late. The latest CNN poll shows that Romney would crush Obama if the election were held today. Well, we told you so. But Obama played a good game. He never really said he was good, just that Romney was bad and it worked. Better luck next time.

This is actually a rare outcome. People more often support their past decisions even if they look like mistakes in retrospect. Bush was very unpopular but he still beat Kerry in the hypothetical match ups. People must really be upset with Obama.

I am sure it is just racism. All those people who supported Obama the first and the second time only now noticed that he is black.

You are absolutely wrong again, as you so often are.

“The problem comes from the right wing media: FOX, Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and others. They keep telling their listeners to ignore all sources of information outside the right wing because all other sources of information carry a liberal bias.”

I think for myself. I find things on my own. I even watch MSNBC and CNN. I do not watch Beck, Limbaugh or Hannity. I do watch Fox about as often as I do the MSNBC and CNN. So get out your crystal ball and pray tell me what your next prognostication may be and I can tell you from your past record it will be in all probability wrong.

You on the left think that anybody outside their realm of thinking is not on the right track. See I at one time committed the same mistake when I was younger. I now am of a bit wiser and my thinking process is of a different mold. It allows people with a differing mind set to be correct if that is what they think they should be. There are some people that will never gain the kind of wisdom that can allow them the freedom to achieve heights they never thought possible.

For Shame

Funny thing about Romney. He absolutely refuses to run in 2016. Odd way for a person to behave who ran for the office twice already, yet would supposedly win this time around. He does not want to run. Heh heh. Just one number for you:

You will be glad to know Michele Bachmnann wants to run again. She cannot understand why no one will ask her if she is running. Gee. Let me think about that…

Cain is thinking about running again too. Apparently he is waiting for God to give him the word. His last campaign resulted in the best book tour in the history of the world. Or worst. Take your pick.

Rick Santorum is still available. If personhood amendments giving eight-celled blastocysts first amendment rights, and denying women contraception is your cup of tea, he is ready and willing!

And let’s not forget Sarah Palin! She just called for Obama to be impeached. Because… because… well… no one knows. Because. But it is has nothing to do with race!!!

Ted Cruz.

Nuf said.

Rand Paul is the only vaguely plausible candidate. Have fun with that. He was not as involved in the government shut down as Cruz, but he already has enough horrendous Senate votes under his belt to destroy his political ambitions for decades to come.

He already has enough horrendous Senate votes under his belt to destroy his political ambitions for decades to come.

Sorry. Just a little bit of plagiarism. You won’t mind that if you like Rand Paul!

Jeb Bush. Mmmm. Bush. Just the name gets me excited.

Chris Christie might be viable if he does not lose his job as governor. What goes around, comes around. Cheaters never prosper.

Rubio should be a front-runner, but his big deal was supposed to be immigration, and he suffered an epic fail with his attempt at legislative reform. Now he is running around denying Global Warming to curry favor with the know-nothings. Good luck with that!

Rick Perry? Oops.

Finally, Ryan. Ah yes. If getting rid of Medicare and Social Security becomes viable, Ryan is a shoe-in.

What will happen in 2016, we don’t know. We know that today Obama is so unpopular that a significant number of his erstwhile supporters now wish they voted for the other guy.

Interesting poll guys. Such a good pie in the sky question, if an election were held today, the midterms I guess, who would you vote for Obama or Romney? The incumbent loses. Questions 4 and 5 tell us these same people would vote the repubs out of power in Congress, the incumbent loses. What are we to glean from this poll? That voters don’t want Obama for a third term so they would take Romney instead but if Clinton were running they don’t want Romney either, by a substantial margin.

What we know know is in 2012 the people of this country rejected Romney and kept Obama, the incumbent, by a wide margin. What I don’t understand is how with all the negative propaganda from the repubs, the obstructionist JBS’ers in Congress bringing the country to a standstill for 4 years running did almost half the people still want Obama in office? (I would venture the money men behind the conservative movement are wondering the same)

I wonder how long it is before ALEC and the conservatives tries to pass laws for mid term presidential elections do over’s.

“Wide margin?” He won by a margin statistically indistinguishable from the margin won by Bush. The parallel is close in most ways, except that, as I wrote, voters still preferred Bush to Kerry even if they disliked him.

SO it wasn’t a mandate despite the conservative insistence that it was?

Perhaps the difference, were your claim that voters preferred GWB to Kerry at that time was an accurate reflection of the facts,(which as we know it isn’t) they now prefer Romney to a third Obama term is due to the unparalleled amount of propaganda the conservatives have propagated the past 6 years along with extreme right wing presence in Congress obstructing the running of the government. The question is C&J why is the Romney lead so small considering the work your propagandist have done with Obamacare, The black muslim, radical christian, socialist terrorist, about to be impeached dictator, foreign born president. Or was all that just like the mandate and GWB’s popularity, only in the minds of conservatives?

One of the biggest problems the GOP is currently experiencing is the lack of leadership.

Romney is no leader. No one from his own party turns to him. No one listens to him. He can barely grab a headline.

The failure in leadership goes beyond Romney. None of the past presidential candidates lead- not Dole, not Bush #41 or #43, not McCain. Although Ryan still exists, the same holds true of vice-presidential candidates, with the notable exception of Sarah Palin.

Chew on that for a minute.

As a result, the leadership vacuum has been filled by right wing talk show hosts like Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and others. Their audience is primarily older, white, rural males from the south, Midwest, and Rocky Mountain states who actually listen to AM radio or watch FOX. On the internet, the sources of information are Drudge and Breitbart. We are seeing the result of this.

The GOP base has been told again and again that Obama is a tyrant, the economy is terrible, foreign policy is a disaster, Global Warming is a hoax, and- oh yeah- do not listen to other sources of information because everything else has a liberal bias. Is it any wonder there is so much hatred for Obama? What else are people who watch FOX and listen to Limbaugh and read Breitbart supposed to think?

So now the base is pushing for impeachment, but the GOP politicians know it would be a disaster; yet, without effective leadership, with Romney absent along with Bush #43 and so on, nothing can stop the base from demanding more and more extreme and radical measures.

The really funny thing is that liberals know this. Obama knows this. And now Obama is egging on the conservatives into impeachment proceedings. In the next few weeks he will announce an executive order relating to immigration which is calculated to make the far right froth at the mouth.

It’s perfect. Obama and the Democrats need this. If the recent primaries are any indication, turnout for the upcoming midterm will be exceptionally low. It might even set a record. That hurts Democrats and helps Republicans. Impeachment over an immigration executive order would accomplish two goals: 1) increase turnout, and 2) deny the Latino vote to the GOP for years to come.

“Please proceed, Governor.”

The presidential fields are not yet filled. I know you all have Hillary and evidently love her for reasons that baffle me.

The thing I think is important about Obama is that he taught the Millennial generation that if you vote for hope, you end up hopeless and if you vote for change, you get it in ways you might not want. This is what Jimmy Carter did for my generation. I voted for him (my first time ever vote) and learned that hard lesson.

Whether or not this helps Hillary, who tries to appear experienced, I don’t know. But it may prevent another neophyte from grabbing the presidency for another generation, until the new kids come along w/o the experience of a Carter or an Obama.

Hillary does not cultivate love so much as… respect. Her resume is impeccable. Her experience with domestic policy, legislation, foreign policy, and the Executive Branch makes her credentials unassailable. This will be as close to a Democratic coronation as we have seen in a long time.

Personally, I prefer the politics of Elizabeth Warren. Joe Biden also has broad experience and commands a lot of respect. The right wing used to disrespect him. Remember how they thought Ryan would mop the floor with Biden in a debate? Instead, Biden cleaned his clock on national tv. It was a big time smack down, it was a turning point, and it came courtesy of Joe Biden. Ryan never really recovered, and neither did the Romney campaign.

Of course, there is always the possibility of another Obama out there, waiting in the wings, but it is hard to imagine Hillary crossing paths with another politician that exceptional.

The GOP primary will be far more interesting and far less predictable. The field appears exceptionally weak. In 2012, there was never really any doubt Romney would win the nomination. GOP nominations usually amount to coronations. McCain and Bush #43 fought it out in 2000 in one of the dirtiest campaigns in modern history. Well, presidents tend to bring to the office the same thing they brought to the campaign, and Bush & Karl Rove were no exception. We saw it again in 2004, when Bush swiftboated the feckless Kerry, and ran on a platform of God, guns, and gays.

That platform is not a viable national strategy anymore, but the GOP base has not come to terms with it. They want to be free to discriminate against gays as a matter of religious freedom, and the Hobby Lobby ruling gives them ammunition to pursue it. While that might play great the GOP base, it is looked upon as mere bigotry by most young people.

Other issues, such as Global Warming, Women’s rights, and the question of immigration continue to spell trouble for GOP presidential hopefuls. The base still wants to deny GW, cheers for the Hobby Lobby ruling, and goes into a frenzy at the mere thought of illegal immigrants being granted amnesty or whatever. These might play great with the base in GOP primaries, but these stands are absolutely toxic in a national election, especially against an experienced campaigner like Hillary.

2014 might be the Republican Party’s last chance to turn the tide, but to survive beyond 2016, that requires change and it requires leadership. The results of the 2014 midterms are highly likely to favor the GOP simply because it history shows the 6th year of a presidency is almost always good for the opposition (except for the Gingrich Congress and the boneheaded impeachment of Clinton), and, the Senate math is highly favorable for the GOP. Furthermore, there is no leadership to help the GOP see beyond the false dawn of 2014 and make those necessary changes.

The 2016 primaries are packed into a tight schedule for the GOP. A surprise candidate could pull of an upset before the establishment can stop it. One billionaire funding a campaign could buy himself or herself a winner. Should be fun.

With all due respect phx, reality is reality. Your Cognitive Dissonance is tired and overplayed.

Obama, has gotten worse and worse as a president each month since taking office. The only reason he looks halfway decent is because of the left and the fact that the media loves the Idea of Him…not his actual job performance or actions.

While Romney wasn’t the best option, his words and declarations, as well as many of his predictions were spot on (years later).

I still can’t believe what I call the duplicity of Candy Crowley during that 3rd debate. Romney was prescient; Candy and Mr. oh-so-smug Obama was not.

I admire your allegiance to Obama; however, I will never understand it given the facts.

Again Cognitive Dissonance can be dealt with in two ways:

1) discount the truth and/or reality of the situation and change your viewpoint to be congruent with your beliefs; or,

2)point fingers and blame the ‘other guy’

He believes many scientists and politicians have engaged in fraudulent activity based on bad science in a continuing quest for funding. He also explains the one-world government motive behind the formation of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.”

I am totally against any impeachment effort of obama. I want this guy to have to live with his failures until his terms ends. Trying to end his agony with impeachment is too stupid to consider. There are many more ways to make this guy a pariah even among many in his own party.

“You are absolutely wrong again, as you so often are.”

Your comment about cognitive dissonance, the truth, and reality are unintentionally funny, because tom humes wrote this, not me.

“Obama has gotten worse and worse as a president each month since taking office.”

Can you cite a hard fact or statistic to back that up?

Romney accurately predicted something? That is surprising. I remember he wrote a famous article, “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” When uncertainty was at its greatest, and no one knew how the economic crash would turn out, Romney made his case. Romney would have killed the auto industry, because there were no private buyers at the time. That was the problem: it was a credit crunch, and Romney’s actions would have resulted in up to three million addition people unemployed. Contrast this with what actually happened: the Obama administration saved GM.

Frankly, I have no idea who will win the Republican nomination for president. I favor a governor over a congress critter.

phx8 is correct, in the eyes of many dems and independents, Hillary has the right stuff.

A nominee for president who immediately follows one from the same party has some unique disadvantages. The nominee can not be seen to disparage the former. She will have to defend most of obama’s actions, legal and illegal. And, she will not have obama’s usual response to everything that is wrong…and Blame Bush. That would bring a derisively mocking response.

It will be for her to explain the still high unemployment numbers, the rising cost of food, medicine and fuel, the increasing plight of the poor and disadvantaged, the further decline of blacks moving up the success ladder, the huge increase in illegals in this country and our exploding national debt.

She will have to explain why she failed to keep our allies trust and why they ignore most of our requests for action.

Most dem nominees for president have a platform that appeals to the base by promising more “stuff”. She will too. And, she will be pressed to account for how the “stuff” will be paid for. She will no doubt offer the fall back position of the left…raise taxes on the rich. Will that old and tired call really work this time? I doubt it.

Frankly, a poor Republican nominee will be easily beaten by Hillary and a good Republican nominee will give her a sound thrashing. Unfortunately, I don’t know if we can find a “good” nominee.

3. She talked a lot about resetting relationships
4. She talked a lot about what she was going to do.

The reason for their being discontent with Obama is because People see that he is an Anti Democratic Tyrant.

One of Many examples other than those of America, which Most of us know of, is the example of Ukraine.

America Controls the World with Bribing, Blackmailing, and Intimidations, and so the World is going to end one day, This is because the World cannot survive such an Evil and Corrupt Situation in such a Technological World.

We know that an Investigation has not even began, and yet the Wrong Verdict has been given by America, and their Puppets, because to America an Investigation is a Euphemism for Cover Up, and no one thinks that America would actually Confess to their Guilt, and those who know History know that America has a Long Track Record of Committing Crimes, and Successfully blaming someone else for that.

The People of the World need to know that the only way to avoid All Humans dying in WW 3 is for America and its Nazi Puppets in Kiev to be found Guilty of the Passenger Plane MH 17 in Eastern Ukraine, because they are Guilty.

This is what you need to say on Talk Back Radio, and this is what you have to say to your Families, and Friends, and Everyone to come in contact with.

Perhaps Many VOTERS in Euro-America will say that they do not care who is responsible, and that does not in any way mean that they do not care about what happened.

What is means is that they care more about the Future.

In other words, do not waste any Money on an Investigation of what happened, or of what allegedly happened.

It does not matter if it is an Honest Investigation or a Corrupt Investigation, because that Money should not be Wasted on the dead, but it should be Spent on the Living.

There are Many People who think that Money should not be Wasted on the dead, but that it should be Spent on the Living.

This does not include the cost of an appropriate burial and tombstone, but I was referring to Unnecessary Government Money Spent for Sham Investigations.

There are Many People who consider that sanctions are a form of Wasting Money on the dead, and in that regard they consider sanctions by Euro-America to be a Crime against Humanity.

I think we all know that the Western Media and the Puppets of America will continue to Lie and to be successful in their Lying and Deceiving, and so this is matter of having an Impartial Investigation is not going to happen.

We already know that the Passenger Plane was hit by a missile from the ground or from the air by a fighter jet, and so there is Nothing to learn in this instance to improve safety, and it was Already Known to avoid war zones, and so the Illegitimate President Poroshenko is Guilty, and he did it under American Orders.

The Anti Democratic Junta in Kiev who have Control over Ukrainian air space, and they did Everything they could to ensure that that Passenger Plane deviated from its Usual Flight Path, and flew over a war zone.

We can see that Anti Democratic Junta in Kiev wants an Election after having Disenfranchised the Minority of their Subjects who Vote for the Communist Party, and an Election would be just putting Lipstick on A Pig.

Most People in Ukraine would Never Vote for the Communist Party, but those who are Democratic and who do not have Untrustworthy Motives want other Citizens who are a 7 % Minority Group to have the Right Vote for the Communist Party if they want to, even as Others have to the Right to Vote according to their Political Opinions.

Ukraine is a Dictatorship, and we can see why certain areas of Ukraine want their Independence to be able to live in a Democratic Country.

The Junta in Kiev is Slandering and Criminalizing anyone they wished under the Improper Charge that they are Democratic Communists, which means Slandering and Criminalizing someone for having a Political Opinion in a Democracy.

For example, there could be some People who might want to recycle all the Metal and other Materials from Malayan Air Flight MH 17 to be recycled so that No Corrupt American Sham Investigation can take place, and this is for the Good of Environment, and for the Good of the People of the World, because Money should not be wasted on the dead, but spent on the Living.

The reason is that there will Only be Lies from American Investigations, in Order to make America a Military Dictatorship to commit Genocide on the American People, and America will control the Investigation even if they are not Officially involved, because the Other People know what they Must Do if they want their Bribe, or if they do not want any Reprisals, and America Really is the Evil Empire, Regardless of how Many Ignorant People there are in America, and the Video is Titled: Futurist Author Predicted Police State at .

What the Illegal and Illegitimate Junta Fears the Most is that there would be a few Parliamentarians in Ukraine who would be a Voice against a State murdering its own People.

We can see the Quality of the Investigations that America Conducts, and the type of Collusion by the Western Mainstream Media, and one example is the United 93 crash site in Shanksville Pennsylvania where the impossible is presented as what happened at .

Another example of the impossible that is presented as what happened is the Building 7 Collapse, which it is Obvious that it was a controlled demolition, and Osama bin Laden could not have set that up at .

We can see that if Americans and others could ever be able to trust the American Government on what really happened to the Passenger Plane MH 17 in Eastern Ukraine, then President Barack Obama needs to Refuse to Obey the Invisible Devil, and Confess that Osama bin Laden is Innocent of the September 11 attacks of 2001 on America, because it was done by Influential American Citizens.

There are Many People who Know that there were no planes used on the 11 September 2001 attacks, and this is the reason there was no plane at the United 93 Alleged crash site in Shanksville in Pennsylvania.

There are Many Videos that Prove this, and they are Titled: Flight 175 rare video- proof of 9 11 no plane hoax at , and Conclusive Evidence the 9/11 Planes were NOT REAL at , and The Best 9-11 Documentary ++ Media Cover-Up ++ No Planes at .

Many Americans would hope that their fellow Citizens are much better than this, and that they would do not support the Butchers and the Dictators of Ukraine, because of having Sufficiently Proper Respect for Democratic and Human Principles.

Many People know why these things are happening, and it is because the Bible tells us that the Invisible Devil the Invisible Ruler of the World, who is as Invisible and Real as is Invisible Gravity, Invisible Earth’s Magnetic Field, and Invisible Radio Waves.

Therefore, we Only have to Look at the Global Hegemony, America, and know that it is being used these days by the Satan the Devil, the Invisible Ruler of the World.

Not that it can be regarded as the absolute truth but this link offers a lot more information than your scant 4 sentences. You are not someone that can be trusted in predictions of outcomes during presidential elections especially because of the last seven years of your predictive capability regarding said elections. But I do enjoy reading your musings and attempts at putting a fly in the ointment of the possibility of another President Clinton.

Warren, then he/she could have done that without making it seem like she did nothing as the scant 4 sentences that he/she included in the comment would seem to indicate.

Excerpt from the link provided:

“By the close of 2009 there were 25 female ambassadors posted by other nations to Washington; this was the highest number ever”

This would seem to indicate that she influenced other world leaders in a positive manner to take action regarding women in decision making positions, which I believe was one of her top initiatives.

And they really don’t have a good record as far as presidential election prediction results from the past 7 years. Do they?

More women representing foreign nations in the US is a good thing, but if this is HRC’s most notable accomplishment then it does not bode well for her. HRC is no Dean Acheson or Henry Kissinger. She doesn’t seem to have accomplished any major foreign policy breakthroughs. On the other hand, she didn’t screw anything up, which demonstrates that she is a competent manager. Warren, I would agree with that assessment and as you yourself have alluded to, I am uncertain if she will or should be the Democratic nominee for president in 2016. She did broker the last cease fire for Gaza that has recently become a shambles but they all seem to have that outcome no matter who brokers it. I expect we will find out more as time goes on but I am fairly certain that although she seems to be positioning herself for that run she could always say “Nah, I’m tired of you guys using your microscope on me to find faults”. Although she does possess relatively thick skin and seems capable of holding together a fragile union under dire circumstances if her marriage to the former President can be used as any guideline for that.

Actually, I was broadly right in 2010, 2006 & 2004 and 2002. And this is what big brother Jack wrote in APRIL 2008. He called the Hillary loss (and potential Obama victory) months before Hillary gave up -

“Our country may get stuck with four years of hokum (I think Obama has a good chance of becoming president), but I have the small consolation of watching the Democratic self licking conspiracy ice cream cone melt in the heat of reality.”

Of course, old Jack was wrong about the Democrats giving up their conspiracy theories.

As long as we are at hit, here is another example of old Jack’s prescience -

“I liked Bill Clinton. He was a moderate who pushed free trade, NATO expansion, welfare reform & limited government. I don’t know or care if he really believed it. I called him a Great Statesman…So, my friends, tell me what you all liked about the Bill Clinton years and try to explain how the current Democratic candidates are going to bring that back.” This was also in April 2008. We are still waiting for that recovery.

Re Clinton accomplishments - I was not joking. She traveled a lot and talked a lot, but when it was all said and done, much was said and little done.

I don’t blame her for all the troubles in the world, but almost every place she worked, i.e. Russia, Egypt, Syria, is as bad and often worse than when she started her task. Accomplishments usually means more than just wanting something to happen and wishing it so.

If those who died on the Passenger Plane in Eastern Ukraine could speak, they would say that they do not want their Family and Friends and Others to die in WW 3, and that the World needs to avoid nuclear holocaust.

There are Many People who think that Money should not be Wasted on the dead, but that it should be Spent on the Living.

I found some Interesting things recently on the Internet, and Many Americans have been asking for a Long Time, on who Barack Obama really is, and what is the Secret Evil Agenda by Obama and his Assistant Psychopathic Administration for the World.

I want to say that my Only concern with the Obama’s in this context is that of being Honest with the Public, and so I reject any notions of racism or homophobia, which is not a real word, even as Crimophobia or Taxavoidancephobia are manufactured word against the Human Condition and which cannot be used with any Legitimacy.

I will accept being called a Genocidephobe, and any other term that is used against me is done to Divert Attention away from the Real Issues of Saving the Planet.

One of the things that President Ronald Reagan and President Mikhail Gorbachev agreed was Vital for this was not to expand NATO Eastward from East Germany, but other America Presidents have not and will not do that, as we have seen with Obama and Ukraine.

I want it to be Understood that I do not want the Planet to be Destroyed in WW 3, and this is why People are asking who Barack Obama is and who is Psychopathic Assistants are.

We know that Joan Rivers said that Barack Obama is Homosexual and that Michelle Obama is a Transgender Person, and while the Western Media will say that she was joking, I have done my own Research on that at , and there are Videos that

There is a Website that that is called Give us Liberty, and it is self explanatory what it says at .

We now understand another reason of how and why America is able to make Puppets of the Politicians European Union, who have been promised to be given enough time to be in their nuclear shelters at!bqvQ3x .

There are other Independent News Articles written by Americans on this at , and at!bqvSj3 .

Like everything else the conservatives in power prior to the Obama administration left the country in shambles, this included our reputation. Hillary Clinton helped to restore the reputation of this country after 8 years of abuse by the GWB administration. If you can remember back to the days of George W and Dick Cheney, conservatives, you can remember our foray into nation building whether they want it or not. You can remember our reputation being dragged into the toilet by these guys.

So yes we can all say not much when it comes to Hillary and the state department but then what you are saying is our reputation isn’t much, I disagree.

CJ, I have no idea what you are talking about when referring to big brother Jack. I do remember a poster on this website called Jack however he traded in that posting handle for CJ and the posts started becoming rather strange because they were from two people and not one. This duplicitous arrangement confused some here and led to some right wing hate support for some of the posts from CJ(there were a lot of red meat posts that contributed to that). I never considered that CJ was Jack, I used to enjoy reading Jack’s posts even though I did not agree with most of them, they were cogent.

Got to thinking about HRC running last night. How about Vice President Bill Clinton? If she did manage to get elected what do you think of US Attorney General Elizabeth Warren? Of course she might choose some one like Julian Castro as a running mate and really lock up the women and Latino vote. If she ran a successful campaign and was elected President another musing I struck upon would be how does Supreme Court Justice Barack Obama sound? You know this could get interesting.

Speak, most thinking people would call that a nightmare dream. Wake up dude, your grand-children’s future depends upon adults running the government.

RF, fully awake and how about you let me worry about my grand-children’s future, I wouldn’t trust you with a pets future let alone my progeny. OK, that was unkind and I kind of apologize, sorta. You better get ready for your nightmare and my dream come true because the outcomes I mentioned are a distinct possibility.

You know if Republicans focused on finding, fielding and nominating the right candidate they just might have an outside chance. But if all you can do is denigrate and deride our current President then you will never attain that chance. You spend so much time talking about how bad President Obama is that you neglect to consider what you need to do to find a good candidate and only find those that agree with your assessment. I know it is a lot more fun for you to do that and that you must get some perverse pleasure from it because no one here thinks much of your unfounded criticism of President Obama including me.

Well, it appears that Speak is in his usual jovial mood. Actually, I worry for the future of all our children, not just yours. The legacy of our great accomplishment in freedom and liberty are in peril if we continue to drift toward the socialism being advocated by the far left.

RF, while I can’t agree with your assessment I do agree with your worry about the future of all of our children. The legacy of our great accomplishment in freedom and liberty have been and will be continuing whether there is a Republican President, Democrat President or Socialist President. This country is greater than one President’s term in office and will continue to be lauded as the greatest experiment in government for a long time to come. I do support your want for a good Republican candidate for President but I also have my doubts.

Romney would have killed the auto industry, because there were no private buyers at the time. That was the problem: it was a credit crunch, and Romney’s actions would have resulted in up to three million addition people unemployed. Contrast this with what actually happened: the Obama administration saved GM.

I worked for GM for 23 years. I had the presence of mind to sever ties with GM in late ‘06. I saw the mismanagement; I saw the atrophy; I saw a total lack of understanding for a path forward to keep from imploding.

It happened px! Think about your asinine statement! “…the Obama administration saved GM.”

I earned a vested pension and would love to see future monies coming my way; however, GM and Chrysler failed miserably! Twice in Chrysler’s history they got bailed out.

A company rarely if ever learn any real lessons when moral hazard is involved. GM is still deceiving AND killing its customers both figuratively and literally!

Cover ups, incompetence, blame-shifting, oh, and a record 8-plus million vehicles were recalled in over one year!!!!

I have a slogan for Biden: Terrorism is alive and GM is killing its customers!

Btw, Biden showed up at my local union hall each election cycle for decades and delivered the same tired and old boilerplate blue-collar rallying cry each time.

Presidents should NEVER pick winners and losers; more importantly, presidents should never shaft the bond holders as well as the poor Delphi workers who got pennies! They are rightly suing for just compensation that they never got, but the UAW did get. Every contract and business expert say the Delphi workers will prevail.

All this was in the name of politics and garnering the union vote. GM is going to fail in the future. Why? One doesn’t learn their lesson when given $50 billion to “fix” their problems.

The Big-3 should have allowed for a natural consolidation of the industry, not hand-outs.
