Changing Cheney

Headlines like those on this article make it seem that the Bush-Cheney Administration may not become the Bush-Cheney ticket. That is more sensational than realistic. Nevertheless, the full article itself is more reasoned, and a fair analysis of the political considerations surrounding the GOP ticket’s number 2 slot.

I don’t think there’s any way that the majority of the American people will be swayed by a switch of VP. A majority, however may not be neccessary. Only a few points are needed to swing the election. That’s why all of these sometimes annoying details are so important. Every single point that either side can press will be sweated out diligently, and it will certainly get interesting.

As for my personal views… I have said for a number of weeks that I believe Cheney will not be on the ticket. I wouldn’t stake my kidney on it, but I have my strong suspicions.
