Melanija Knavs: Illegal Immigrant

The Associated Press reports that Melanija Knavs worked as a model in 1996 without proper immigration documents.

Last September, Melania Trump released a letter from her attorney in an attempt to answer earlier speculation that she came to the United States illegally in 1995 in order to shoot nude photos for Max Magazine. According to that letter, Melanija Knavs came to the United States on August 27, 1996 on a B-1/B-2 visa, which does not permit the bearer to work within the United States. On October 18, 1996, Melania Trump's attorney alleges that she obtained her first H1-B visa. Unfortunately, no documentation has ever been provided to back up these claims, but for the purposes of this essay I will grant Melania Trump the benefit of the doubt.

Having obtained an H1-B visa in October, Melania was free to pursue her modelling career in the United States. She ultimately renewed the work visa 5 more times before becoming a permanent resident in 2001. However, it seems that during the 52 days she lived in the United States without work authorization, Melanija Knavs violated the terms of her visa on 10 occasions. In total, she earned $20,056 for these gigs.

It almost goes without saying, this revelation is extremely damaging to Trump's candidacy as once again we are confronted with the monstrous hypocrisy surrounding this fraudster. Apparently, we live under two systems of justice. One for ordinary Americans, many of whom live each day fearing they might get deported, and another for people privileged enough to acquire wealth and special connections.

Is this the November surprise? This is the best you can do? Who cares?Hillary Clinton and her party are just about as corrupt as one could get.

Poor Blaine. No facts, no proof, no evidence. Lots of accusations resulting in… well… nothing. The e-mail investigation turned into an epic fail. No indictments, no trial, no conviction. Nothing.

Benghazi!!! Nope. Fail!!!

Surely the Clinton Foundation did something wrong! Surely! If only someone could find something! Anything! Anything at all. Anybody? Hello? (Crickets.)

Looks like the November surprise will be voter turnout, especially Latinos. Should be no problem for Republicans unless they made a bunch of bigoted, racist comments about Mexicans, right?

Blaine will be crying in his taco bowl November 9th.

And if Trump somehow did win, it would be wonderful to see him lead by example. When it comes to deportation, he has shown no hesitation about breaking up families with immigration violations. If he wins, this would be his big chance to walk the walk. Republicans would surely support deporting Melania. If she turns out to be one of the good ones, maybe the US will let her back in. Eventually.

We all know what a Big Man Obama is with more compassion than can be imagined. Perhaps he will pardon Melania and Hillary at the same time.

I suspect, using Warren’s PC language, that this was merely an Unintentional Lapse of Judgement.

Hypocrisy reigns in Hillary Cleveland Rally.

‘I’ve never said what he said in my life!’ Trump blasts Hillary for appearing onstage with Jay-Z after the rapper drops F-bombs and N-words during concert rally – and draws a larger crowd all by himself!

“The rapper dropped one F-bomb and N-word after another, and then Hillary embraced him onstage. Clinton has been openly critical of Trump’s ‘tone’ and the ‘lewd’ language he has used in the past.”

Hillbilly embraces a vile rap singer and condones his use of the f-word and the n-word by appearing with him on stage.

Everything is fine. J-z is not running for president.

Trump is endorsed by a clan member.

Trump is a racist, misogynist, hate monger who doesn’t deserve to be elected president.

Hypocrisy? I’d say so.

Tom,

I am not advocating a strict enforcement of the nation’s laws. So, there’s no hypocrisy when it comes to my own lawbreaking. I do not want Melania deported any more than I wish to see the other 10 million otherwise law-abiding undocumented immigrants deported. What I do not want to see is a separate justice system for the rich and powerful and everyone else.

Warped, Maybe she did break the law in 1996. If you don’t want to see a justice system that is separate why do you defend Hillary? So to be fair we hold Melanija accountable, Hillary accountable for her misdeeds and the 12 million also here illegally.

It appears wildly hypocritical that you’ve ignored and supported illegal immigration, but just happen to become law abiding when you notice your political opponent has done the same exact thing you’re supporting.

You bring this issue to the front simply because of your political bend.

I call that hypocrisy.

I support letting Melania remain in the United States along the same terms I support letting the other 10 million illegal immigrants stay in the country.

In that case you should be expecting the 10 to 20 million illegal immigrants to follow the same rules Trump did and become a citizen.

That’s become a citizen without the government treating them with special privilege called amnesty. Amnesty is the same as rewarding illegal behavior.

Melania Trump was given an H1-B visa despite violating the terms of her B1/B2 visa. In my book, that is amnesty.

You make a valid point, Warren Porter. However, you still have a double standard by bringing this up. Would you bring this up if she supported the Democratic Party?

It’s obvious you wouldn’t because you haven’t brought it up the other 12 million times this issue has come to light.

That’s hypocrisy, Warren Porter. If a Republican raised this issue involving a Democratic the shoe would be on a different foot, wouldn’t it?

I believe that a President needs integrity. Integrity cannot be found in a man who supports enforcing a law when it comes to laborers from Mexico and supports ignoring the law when it comes to models from Slovenia.

Gary Johnson supports changing the law to give ALL otherwise law-abiding illegal immigrants an opportunity to achieve legal status. Why can’t we give the 10 million illegal immigrants the same deal that Melania got?

You are exactly right. Trump might bankrupt the nation (and fill his own pockets) building a wall along the southern border, but you can believe me that he won’t do a thing to deny his construction friends the cheap labor he seeks. Remember, when the going got tough, illegal Polish labor was hired to get the job done during the construction of Trump Tower.

Show me statements made, or laws passed by Donald Trump, that support ignoring the law when it comes to models from Slovenia.
Clinton enforced the law consistently. It didn’t matter if one was a Slovenian model or a Mexican laborer, the law was applied (or not applied) exactly the same under Clinton. Nobody got special favors.
Trump supports ignoring immigration laws.

Not enforcing the law is not enforcing the law consistently. It’s not enforcing the law.
