DNC Sets Up Gay Marriage 'Plank' for RNC to Jump Off

Regardless of whether President Obama personally believes in marriage equality, he certainly isn’t letting it stop the movement on gay marriage. Republicans are very quick to say that Obama doesn’t support gay marriage, but his actions are now speaking much louder than words. In fact, it has been confirmed that the Democratic National Convention (DNC) be including a same-sex marriage plank in support of marriage equality in the official convention.

Just a couple months ago, it was just a statement President Obama made in support of same-sex marriage. Now it's hard to believe that the belief has come to fabrication so quickly for the upcoming election. This is a huge victory for the LGBT community, who has fought for marriage equality a long time.

Representative Barney Frank, is on the platform drafting committee ultimately leading to the final approval for the plank at the convention. He says, "The fact is, by every action that should be taken, the Democrats in Washington have repudiated DOMA." The draft awaits final approval in the next two weeks, however it is believe that it is likely a done deal.

Again, the Democrats are paving the way for our civil society. It's about time that all men are created equal, and it's a true motion to the future of this country to include same-sex marriage rights for Americans. Americans have been able to count on the Democrats to defend their human rights, and this shouldn't be any different.

Because of the media hype of gay marriage issues and equality, this progression in the DNC could be a massive leap forward in the campaign leading up to the election. Not only is it a hot button issue, but it is an obvious situation of Obama putting his money where his mouth is, contrary to constant Republican opposition. On the other hand, this could kill the election in current swing states like Virginia, Iowa, and Ohio and pushing the election in favor of Romney.

It is really marvellous that the Democratic party is doing the right thing, and we are marching forward marriage equality and even human equality. This is definitely the trend of times, and those countries that now is not approving gay-marriage will follow this trend sooner or later.
I think that we should all be happy for this big progress that have been made. Shouldn’t we?
