The data recovery process was quite painful. It took them 9 business days to retrieve the data, and I still am configuring all of my other web sites, email and odds and ends that were affected by the hard drive failure.

What a relief! Not having watchblog to vent was like not having my morning coffee. I did not realize how dependent I had become on this site to satisfy my need for informed controversy. I researched other blogs but nothing matches up to the civil and intellectual level of this format. Thanks!

I totally agree with everything except I don’t drink coffee but a protein shake instead.

googlumpugus, I made a conscious decision years ago to not participate in the WB discussion threads. I chose to leave the management of the WB writers to David Remer and I would focus on being the publisher of WB.

I’m not politically active in this election cycle, so I choose to focus my energies elsewhere. I spent a lot of time, effort, money and brainpower in the 2004 elections that left me drained, disillusioned and frustrated with the way politics run in this country and I chose to walk away.

Glad to see watchblog back on the air. I’ve learned a lot from members blogging here. I take what I’ve learned and try to pass it on in debates elsewhere. I like the way RICKIL put it; informed controversy.

I’m glad to have this forum back on. It’s very rare to find a specialized political blog where you have a decent chance to communicate to a broader audience. As much as I like posting on DKos, it’s like preaching to the choir on many issues. Here I stand a good chance of persuading somebody who isn’t already persuaded.

Yes like everyone else I am very happy to see this site back up and running. It has been very educational and informitave for me and has greatly helped me to be an informed voter. Thank you all for your arguments. Without them I think I would have voted based on personalities. Now I vote based on issues and track records of the candidate.

Thank you Thank you Thank you. Welcome back.

Seems all of us that missed watchblog this past month should find that little green donate button to the right and ante up to ensure any future failure wont bring the whole site down for such a period of time.

Not only am I glad to see the site back on line Im also glad to see all the rest of the posters back.

You were missed by many including me. I am relieved that you hadn’t permanently blocked my participation as I imagined. Welcome back!!!

Since the topic here is actually the site going down, I though I would include the link for people to download firefox 3.0.1 :

Last week IE would not connect to this site at one point, and less than 5 people posted during that time. This is another browser that people can use if there is another problem with IE.
