On the Lighter Side...
Not to digress too much from more serious issues, but two satires I’ve seen recently really seem to capture the essence of the Republican campaign. Read here about why electing Kerry will lead to terrorist attacks in the US and the shocking truth about the 2004 Democratic ticket and see if you don’t agree with me!

You need to send this to Jon Stewert for his show. Now that puts this political season into prospective.
Almost as funny as Bush to Repeal Voting Rights for Blacks, Women. Very Good Satire.

Flu Threat Spurs Kerry to Suspend Campaign.
Scott Ott is a very funny man…

That hidden agenda site is hilarious! My co-workers all think I’m crazy because I was sitting here laughing my ass off.
Posted by: Alejo at October 21, 2004 02:39 PMMy favorite:
“John Kerry supports making a joke that only one dude knows is racist.”
Posted by: Joseph Briggs at October 21, 2004 02:42 PMMine too. I think what was really happening in the photo was he was trying to figure out who farted.
Posted by: Alejo at October 21, 2004 03:25 PMGood satire, but the funniest part was the image on the continuation page of the Onion article, William’s first link. The front page only brought a smile for me, the second page brought cathartic laughter.

The whole thing is brilliant! But then, the people at The Onion never fail to slay me.
Has anyone seen the Dishonest Dubya Lying Action Figure? Make him lie or say something stupid, change his outfit, or even choke on a pretzel! Its so much fun!

Alas, it is hard for satire to keep up with reality. Here in Arkansas the RNC has already told us that liberals want to ban the Bible. (If they were smart, they would say Democrats want to ban the Razorbacks, who aren’t protected by the Constitution.)
I saw an article a while back that was talking about people’s responses to the question “If the candidates were an automobile, what kind of automobile would they be?”
People answered:
George Bush: A muddy, off road, pick-up truck. (something like that)
John Kerry: BMW, slick and foreign.
I was thinking this:
John Kerry is like a Prius: maybe not as attractive as the other cars, a little complicated, but better for the environment and in the long run, the most responsible decision.
My husband said:
And George Bush is like an El Camino: he’s really a car, but he thinks he’s a truck, and he’s not very good at being either.
I just thought this was funny, so I thought I’d share.
