Gen. Clark to endorse Sen. Kerry
Former presidential candidate Wesley Clark will through his support behind front-runner John Kerry tomorrow in Wisconsin.
Wesley Clark to endorse Democratic front-runner John Kerry:
“John Kerry lined up the support of campaign dropout Wesley Clark on Thursday, hoping to pre-empt any move by his remaining Democratic presidential rivals to sneak up on him in next week’s Wisconsin primary.
Democratic officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Clark would bestow his endorsement on the front-runner on Friday in Madison, Wis. Kerry gained Clark's pledge of support as rivals John Edwards and Howard Dean crisscrossed the state, focusing on jobs and health care."This sounds more like Kerry's camp convinced Clark's to endorse Kerry than Clark volunteering to do so. Either way, it is a crucial boost for Kerry coming into the Wisconsin primary, which Edwards and Dean both hope to win to gain some momentum in their campaigns. Like I said, There is no stopping the Kerry Steamroller, Now. And it’s not all that much about Kerry, but, the need for a frontrunner that can potentially knock Bush off his perch.
Posted by: David R. Remer at February 12, 2004 09:33 PMNow all Kerry needs is for Al Gore and Howard Dean to come on over to his side and get the right reverend Al and KuKuKucinich to back him. That ought to about do it for Kerry.
Posted by: Randall at February 12, 2004 09:44 PMNO GORE, NO DEAN! seriously especially not Gore. My God the man is a liability to himself at this point. See here’s the thing he does’nt need any of their endorsements. What is this bovine excretia with the endorsements anyway. Dean will give him supporters? That’s a load of crap, Kerry is already the Democrat seated to take the nomination.
And I hope Matt Drudge does come out with these allogations of an extra-marital affair ASAP. Why because it’s early in the race and by November, it will be marital affair? who-what? (Comments deleted for name calling - WatchBlog manager)
But please no Hillary, most democrats hate the woman more than any of the republicans hate her. She is like a press flap waiting to happen which would’nt be bad if it were funny but ofcourse it won’t be. And as of late so is Dean who will probably commit suicide after this. General Clark was enough.
Now when Kucinich offers his endorsement would’nt it be funny if everybody left the room simultaneously including Kerry. What about Rev. Al? Do we care? Really?
Posted by: Whoever at February 12, 2004 11:29 PM This might be Kerry’s knock-out blow to both Edwards and Dean. According to Polls Clark was running second in Wisconson. If his WI supporters follow him to Kerry it could spell the end for Dean.
By the way if Dean continues to run, he risks becoming a left wing Alan Keys, someone who runs for president just so he can yell and gesticulate in front of the cameras. Secondly, this I think ends things for Edwards. Add just some of Clark’s support to Kerry’s impressive totals in the south, and you have an awfully tall mountain for Edwards to climb.
Like you guys have said , Al Gore is political poison. I would advise Kerry to stay as far away from him as possible.
This might be? Kerry is by far the lead candidate, what you did’nt pay your cable bill this month? Dean is finito, Edwards will perhaps go down within the next two weeks. Although I think he might re emerge as a running mate to carry the south.
The only threat I forsee, and no I’m not a mysogenist, is a female as his running mate. He has two in mind, so it is rumored two males (one a congressman) and two female senators (one who served with him on the intelligence commitee). The problem is the Geraldine Ferraro factor, no one wants that to be replayed. This is wartime and that is a major factor, in the choice I am predicting. Secondly the supposed sex scandal that the cons are serving up. To have a female running mate might prove to be a target for conservative fodder. Edwards would be complimentary to Kerry’s old school patrician demeanor, as redundantly reported by the press. Edwards is an ace campaigner and by far the best public speaker in the race. Edwards is also a trial lawyer and when an opposing party wants to take out a president they go first for his vice because if they can shake him loose. The president will follow. Agnew to Nixon or Gore to Clinton it remains true.
